So I did the maths. Cells highlighted blue are hero's optimum shoving frequency if villain calls with x% of hands. Yellow cells are villains optimum calling frequency if hero shoves x% of hands.

Optimal for both players is shoving with top 60% and calling with top 35%.

I think a lot depends on the history/metagame between the two players. The tendency is to say the villain made a complete donk call, but perhaps he just had an excellent read.

Math aside... What are the villains image and previous play look like? I think it matters.

In regard to the Q9 vs QJ hand. If the BB is a maniac and jams here, I am snapping him off with QJ off.

I don't think you should ever limp QJ blnd vs. blind either. Seems pretty bad overall.
