Why the Allure of the Cash Set Hundo? (2 Viewers)

I bought 10 hundred chips .... doubt they will ever get use in my games, but I wanted them for insurance (just in case) and I needed to represent the Tropicana in the set so they were perfect. My guess is they will sit in the rack all alone, never in use but complete the set.

Well, I'm still jealous of the set. Really wanted to pick those up when they became available. And I love what you did with the add-on. (y)

I’ve always considered that DC game a freak of nature. After reading these answers it seems smaller versions of that game, and the need, are more common than I thought.

The guys in my game have the means but I guess not the stomach. Buy-ins averaging over $100 would send them headed for the hills :)

This was my stack at DCS last year (lolbragaments, in before "he bought in for $4K) and it wasn't the biggest stack at the table. $1/1 Circus. Courage buys $500s for the same reason we buy $100s.

Realistically I could get by without any denomination over $20/$25 as they'll likely never even see play. But..... so?

"Need" is a funny word in this hobby. I'm trying to find a way to justify making a $42 chip :)

A custom set is different to me because you’re basically making a playable piece of art. I just ordered some 5 cent chips as an add-on to my set. Have I ever hosted a game that needed nickels? Nope :p

My skills have no buisness playing in a game like that :)

Our weekly big $1/3 game has about $7-8k on the table at any given time, wish there were more $5s in the set they use, but we had a rack of $25s in play and about 30x $100s. My new big game cash set has 600x $5s then jumps straight to $100s, most Cali casinos I’m used to don’t even have $20/25 chips in play for $1/3 or $2/5 games, just barrels of $5s then $100s.

I like this idea, could save me fortune in TRKs... jump straight from the $5s to the $100s !

I hear that. I've been planning a $1.75 chip since about a month after I discovered this site. I have a buddy in a .25/.50 game who loves betting $1.75. Now that I think about it, its pretty ridiculous that I haven't. I'm not artist, and I'd feel stupid commissioning an artist to design an inlay for a barrell of novelty chips. But now I feel stupid for having not done it.
