I don't think I've ever seen a casino table where the rail *wasn't* removable. Poker, blackjack or otherwise. It allows you to easily put cup holders under the rail, and also allows you to remove the rail to brush the felt.

I think that almost all table have removable rails. Some may be secured down, but they are removable, just the way gambling tables are built.

There’s been numerous posts about electronic tables in casinos here on PCF in the past. I’m sure there’s casinos that would like to move in that direction.
The reason I mentioned it is not that I was advocating for it…just that this incident gives more fuel to the electronic table argument.

I'm too old to have to start over collecting electronic chips!
