I have a pelican case somewhere I am not using , maybe I'll play around with the foam this weekend.
What size is that Kem case? Bridge? Poker? Also, sell me one.Ya for sure. Those vintage KEM cases are AWESOME! It might be my favorite part about the whole setup lol. They're bakelite and the lid fits so smoothly. Really cool deck case, especially for a project like this. I picked up a few of them.
Although I did replace the vintage KEM decks with Fourniers of course :

Really, really nice!
My only concern would be how long the foam dividers will hold up under heavy use, plucking the stacks in and out. Do they sell extra or replacement customized foam so you can keep a spare on hand, or r-order when an older one breaks down?
Fantastic job! I'm gonna have to snag a couple of those Bakelite cases, they look great.
FYI, your link for the Carry Cases Plus website is missing an "s." Should be www.carrycasesplus.com.
Fantastic! My only word of caution, since you said this will be a legacy heirloom set, is the foam in the top of the case. I have a lot of experience with that material over a 20-30 year period.
It doesn't stand the test of time. It can/will degrade into a sticky mess and can/will stick to whatever it is touching.

I'm sure there are a million factors at play so your experience may be different. I've also had longterm storage and use out of the bottom material and had no problem with it at all.
