Yellowing of Light Pink (1 Viewer)

I always thought the yellow that is common on many of the HS Cleveland $500 primary was due to someone marking the chips with some sort of highlighter/marker.

Based on the HSI secondary $2.50 and my colour sample chip, it looks like a general feature of Light Pink.

Any ideas on what is happening and if there is a way to correct it?

I’d guess the compounds in that color undergo a chemical reaction with air. I’m no chemist though, interested to see what everyone thinks!

Great question. I remember noticing it with those cleveland primary $500's and I assumed it was just staining from the layers of crap that were stuck to them. But that color sample chip you've pictured likely hasn't been played or exposed to much crap.

Sunlight / UV ?

I remember some pictures of PCA sec 1$ chips having brown/darker stains (unused chips)...mine don't have that problem but I keep sunlight away from my chips.
