You know you are getting really old when . . . . . (1 Viewer)

Not just you, but all those posting about turning 40: ENJOY IT WHILE YOU CAN!!!!!

From my considerably more advanced perspective, your forties are the best decade of your life, without a doubt. Things are wearing, but not breaking. You have the best of everything available to you! You can do anything, from starting a new career to fixing any shortcomings in your personal relationships.

I'm a very optimistic guy (contrary to some appearances), but I've been saying that since I hit 50, and I'm convinced it's true. Don't waste those first few years of the forties feeling sorry for yourself! Plenty of time for that later... :cool

Thanks for this bud.

You know when you are old

When you crack a rib.....Sneezing

yes sad to say it happened to me las year

a buddy dislocated his shoulder turning off the alarm clock...so he says

Also, you know you are old when you find women the age of your wife/partner to be "old" and so does she for men of your age.
Hint: Consistently fucking a person for years is the best remedy against getting old :D

Also, when you turn your face to another direction in shock, in order not to see at least half of the buttocks of your best friend's daughter (in these ridiculous, pathetic supposed blue-jean trousers) is a sign of decency, if not senility.

....When you crack a rib.....Sneezing....

Sneezes and coughs can do real damage.

Way back ~1980, I sneezed while standing at the sink, shaving. It dropped me to my knees, and ruptured a bleb (lung), putting me in the hospital for three days while they made sure the lung wasn't going to fully collapse.

In 73+ years on the planet, including 26 months in 'Nam, that's the only time I've ever spent in the hospital, so I guess I can't complain too much... :cool

@RowlettTexasChipGuy @pltrgyst What is it that did it? Were you twisted in an awkward way? Is there something that happened or you did during that particular sneeze/cough that was different than any other and you haven’t done that since? Or was it just a random cough/sneeze like any other and for whatever reason it affected you that way?

The movements/contractions your muscles do to forcefully caugh and sneeze is definitely no joke. I have known someone who cracked a rib coughing when they were very sick, but I just wonder if there is a way to avoid that particular slice of no fun times that you two experienced.

I threw out my back one sneezing in bed, but, that isn't too shocking with my back issues. I mean, I nearly paralyzed myself by existing....

When you have a disposition of having “a bad back”, any sudden and abrupt movement can set off a jarring of your spine that results in pressure of bad discs. It doesn’t take much to push one of them out of place. Once it does, it’s a very painful experience. It’s a sort of direct nerve pain. It’s debilitating. Sneezing always brings a fear in me because of my past experiences with a “thrown back”. Btw, you don’t have to be old to have this problem.
