That's insane. It's definitely a sickness....which I am also starting to develop!

My first set was also dice chips, just to get started playing poker at home. This was ~15 years ago.

My 2nd set was Ace Casino metal slug chips, purchased in May 2022

My 3rd, 4th, and 5th sets are Outlaw, along with a set of 500 Royals and 500 Majestics (on back order for now), all purchased July 2022.

Curious - are Paulsons really that much better when compared against CC like Royals? I quite like the look and feel of these CCs.

Next on my radar are Tiki Kings, which I have a sample set of, as well as the Super Poker World once the next group buy happens.

Not sure this is called giving up or being tenacious.
Giving up trying to resist, I guess...

So You’re saying I have 2 1/2 years to get to 22 sets…
Agree with @Ben8257 While yeah, there are plenty here who have accumulated 20+ sets in less than 3 years. that's probably still well above average. I came here 27 months ago looking to acquire 2 (one cash, one tourney) sets. With a VERY limited budget originally. I actually spent more having my son build that display cabinet then I did on chips the first 6 months. I've continued to focus on lower cost chips, but I do now have 9 sets that are either playable, or in process of murdering and relabeling. Wait... I just bought some chips for a small RHC T5 tournament set. Still need one denomination and then I think I will have 10 sets.

Indeed it is a sickness... And it seems like you've caught it. To answer your question, yes, Paulson's are really that much better. I've never really been impressed with any of the China Clays, except for the Royals. But they are light years away from Paulson's, CPC, essentially anything that's not a slugged plastic.

Just ordered more carriers for my recent purchases - have some cards mold inbound and an add-on for my CPC set on order. Not sure where they’ll go in the house, but I feel your pain!

My "kitchen pantry.' Underneath the steps to go upstairs Not as bad as a lot of you guys. And most of my chips aren't super high quality. But with my set of Super Poker Worlds coming I will be at 8700 chips. Oh and three tables. I'm really going to try to back off of buying more chips for a while until I get a custom set from CPC. Well actually two custom sets lol. One cash, one tournament.

Have the shelves started warping from the weight of all those chips? Lol

No, it's an older house and those are pretty thick shelves. Plus I have the big cases on the floor. Thousand chip bird cage with Dia De Los Muertos. Thousand chip roller case with crazy horse chips. And 1000 chip case with outlaw poker chips

The shelves are housing 1000 dunes replica China clay chips in the two black 500 cases. A small cash set of milanos and the 500 leather case. Some next-gen type poker chips in the seven chip boxes 700 Jack casino, chips in racks, 1000 majestic China Clay chips in racks. 1000 Cash club slugos in racks, by the way, they're actually pretty nice. And 500 unicorn casino, chips in racks, they are also nexgen type material.

Just waiting on my 500 super poker world chips which will also go in racks and then in the near future I'll be making my 1,000 to 1,500 piece CPC order.

Then I think I'll be pretty much done.... Hopefully

Hahaha! You’re never done! Trust me…I told myself I was done, I survived 4 months. But I’ve now bought 1100 chips in a week  :ROFLMAO:
You need to really challenge yourself in this hobby. ;) :ROFLMAO: The key is spending 6-7 years putting 1 set together.
After that, you should be ready for a nice retirement. Then it’s off to as many meet ups as possible to enjoy the fruits of yours and others hard work. :cool
The cool thing about retirement is, you can always do a little consulting work on YOUR terms whenever you damn well please. :ROFLMAO:

Definitely worth spending 6-7 years building that set! It is one of my favorite sets that I’ve seen here.

Well... What about this for some sort of storage cabinet? Just get rid of the clock and you have a very unique cabinet :p
Should turn out not that bad in the end...
