I know, it‘s much easier to just buy a dealer button.
But i had this stupid idea to make a button on my own for 2 sets.
I bought some 60mm steel plates (22g) on Temu
and some Fimo modelling clay.
Placed the metal coin between 2 layers of clay.
The first 2 buttons are in the oven now (30 min/110deg.C)

I will do 4 buttons.
2oz. of Fimo is enough for 2 buttons.
The sanded button is 46g. (60mm/7,5mm)

Next steps:
Let it like this, and place the label - done.
Or,
Place a 50mm blank sticker in the center, as stencil for the final 50mm Gear label.
I don‘t want them to stick too much on the button.
Then spray paint in what ever color you want.
Replace the blank sticker with the final label
(unlaminated vinyl)
Cover both sides with 2k varnish (car paint)

Ok - i failed to include the spots…
Colors are great, but 2 layers with a steel plate between is too complicated!
1 layer of clay should be much easier, but 22g less weight.
Maybe i‘ll give a try…

It‘s not easy!
I wonder how they do in the factory, before it get pressed…

Hahaha - i‘m in testing mode…

Not even sure if the final product will pass the QC.
