Dunes... of Arrakis (1 Viewer)

Just gorgeous! I fear the 500 and the 100 are too close in color though, maybe use white for the 500 as it will never be in play with the nickel.
Yeah, those two are definitely the ones I'm looking forward to seeing in person the most. I don't plan to play with 500+ in my personal set, but getting some made to sample and gauge if I need to adjust them. Good suggestion!

Also, I want to add that I really dig the non-traditional edgespots and the clean look of the current design. It’s terrific.

With that said, one complaint I see often is that we don’t take full advantage of the ceramic medium when we mimic clay edgespots. I’m only guessing, but I think it’s possible to take these chips to another level with an even more unorthodox look.

I am definitely not an artist and couldn’t have come close to what you’ve already created, which again is magnificent, so please don’t take the above as criticism. It’s just something to consider. If it’s of interest, perhaps you could draw inspiration from using google images and searching dune theme, original dune book covers, house atreides/harkonen/corrino/etc sigil, crysknife, etc.

And one last thing, one of my favorite factions in Dune is the Bene Gesserit, who caught the men of destiny in their web. I wonder if there’s something more that can be done with this notion and the web mold. (The Bene Gesserit sigil unfortunately doesn’t really match the web mold, at least to my pedestrian eye)
Yeah, to be honest I feel like I set out to do a Dunes Casino inspired chipset with a fun Dune twist, but definitely see potential to further or fully lean into the Dune theme to Machine's comments as well.

I really wanted the design to feel like a casino set and mostly fly under the radar with people that aren't familiar with the series, but be a fun easter egg for those that are.

But hey, a lot of it just came down to my personal preference.. which isn't always the majority! Would absolutely love to see someone take the theme and take it even further though!

Came for the Mario poker chips and 10 minutes after creating an account already second guessing. The updated version with white specs are really good.

Any update on the samples and are you interested in upping the chip size to 43mm to take advantage of the additional spacing for the designs?

Believe normal order timing is ~60 days, so will be some time. And possibly on the 43mm size.

Saw this set in the vendor thread. Super cool design! I am very interested in following where this goes!

Holy crap I just found this thread and am so pumped! There are some amazing designs in here and I really hope it makes it through to some production.

Once I confirm the chips come out OK (edge, colors, etc) in the first sent production run, my plan was to open up the design (cash/tournament versions, allowing swaps/whatever) and dealer button design to all through through Justin's group buys.

One of the main crew wants this. We're thinking of doing this like Triton in Macao with denominations divided in 10's.

Orange 10¢, Black $1 (star field), Blue $10 (with some vibrant blues in there)

My suggestion would be to change 5 cents number colour to some kind shade of grey. White number on white background may cause some visibility problems IMO

It does look like the rest of the denominations take the darker color of the chip except this one

Yeah, I went with the white because I liked the look better (vs consistency).. but has been a consideration to change once I see how the chips come out to change to grey.

You can mock it up, but in my mind's eye, the white will look cleaner. The background around the label is off-white.

"Off-white" + grey = dingy.

Yeah, that's what I recall. If I went grey again I would likely add a black stroke.

But I'm happy with it when displayed larger/zoomed-in, just depends on how print comes out imo.
