Hmmmm that is interesting. Tbh I assumed most people here would have said the Majestics because I hear clay > ceramics a lot. How do china clays feel compared to Paulsons? I really like the sound though I get how they may feel cheap.
CCs do not feel anything like real clay chips. And, I echo the statement above that Royals are the cream of the crop when you talk about CCs.
What makes the Royals special are a few things:
- They are 43 mm, which some people prefer to play with, including myself
- Their colors are bright and beautiful
- They have the least smell of all of the CCs
- They have a very good feel to them and they shuffled like butter
So, you originally compared a top-of-the-line ceramic with a middle of the road
CC. As I said above, if you were considering Royals, then the decision becomes quite a bit harder when compared with a BR pro ceramic chip.
You still haven't really said what your preference is. Is there something about the Tiki kings that you absolutely love, like the artwork? And yes, you can absolutely go semi-custom on a few denominations and get the exact breakdown with the exact artwork that you want, which is a definite bonus for going with the Tiki kings.
I have both DDLM 43 mm from BR pro, and also Apache Royals. They are both very distinct and unique, and if you had to make me choose which one to keep... ... ...

I think I would rather pick which kid I would like to give away. But I guess the edge goes to The DDLM chips because I absolutely love their artwork. I think that the Royals do feel better in my hands, and certainly shuffle a little better, but also they require more maintenance and upkeep since they already have begun to dry out after their initial oiling.
