Who else would be selling them?
I checked out the previously mentioned thread on pokerchipper and someone there indicated the eBay seller said he didn't have playable quantities. Maybe that just meant he doesn't anymore or he wanted the right offer before spilling that info. I don't know, that's why I asked.

This all seems hush-hush so I wasn't expecting an answer, but it doesn't hurt to try.

These are my all-time GOAT, grail, or whatever. I'm jealous, but also happy a few sets made it out.

Not sure why someone over there would make it seem that way, but it's the same guy. There isn't much quantity left of most things.

I don’t know much, But I can tell you there are a few people involved. The seller, and others feeding him the deeper inventory. That’s why some chips he only has one or a few…. (Gray 1m BJ) But then later he has plenty. This also explains why initially there weren’t enough for sets, but now there are.

I mentioned it for sure. Bc when they first started to show up on the listings he said no sets available and 20 people must have asked them.

I mentioned it as well.

I’ve been doing add-ons and I think he’s almost out of T500s. Which would mean an end to playable sets.

Unless it’s all a ruse and he suddenly “finds” 25,000 more. I have no idea what’s real.

Just looked at my eBay messages to him. I actually did ask about a set way back on 2/5. Although I probably wasn't direct enough. I said I would love a playable set but was happy to get a sample set. I guess I should have gone with "I want a full set, will you sell me one?"

Oh well, sounds like I saved myself quite a bit of money.

Kin’el what a score! This set looks great!

Question is, if suddenly larger quantities will hit the market would prices drop or go up as people will try to scalp them for profit later?
These are the holy grail of poker chips to own. To me I would say it doesn’t matter if everyone of the chips hit the market. They would still be valuable because of what they are. Look at what those damn Tiger chips are selling for and they are not from a real casino.

I think WSOP, Mapes Tigers and others they are valuable on their on merits and their own reasons; not necessarily similar.

Anyhow i would totally agree that WSOP set is a “definitive tourney set”. The set to go for.

I asked for 4 specific chips. He was out of three of them. I asked for 5 other chips and he only had four of them.
The prices are literally ridiculous…offensive, even.
He quoted me a "bulk price" of $60/chip (down from his list price of $70/chip). I basically told him (in a polite way) with the market being flooded, I wasn't looking to spend more than $20/chip, especially because I couldn't get all the chips I wanted, and I told him if he had surplus when the feeding frenzy ended, to reach out to me.

He was super responsive, tho. I'll give him that.
