43mm Project Discussion (3 Viewers)

Went to purchase a set of 450 and ended up checking out with 700. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Got several racks of blank pink and rainbow blue to go along with the stocks, so now just have to figure out when and where to order the labels.

Being that these are 43mm, they won't fit in anything I currently have, right? Where do you go to buy a cage or racks that will fit them?

Anyone here have the 43mm racks from Apache? Seems like some people post that some racks put weight on the chips. Last thing I want after getting this awesome set is to mess them up in storage.

Apache 43mm work fine, have 2 myself.

Only concern with racks should be the racks durability, don’t worry about the chips. Chips are supposed to be kept in racks. Some casinos keep their chips 10 racks high with no damage to the lowest rack of chips.

Prices are going up to $.49 per chip on Friday. Production should be complete by the end of June. Hoping to ship mid July. Because of the popularity I had to increase the order by 50% so it might add a couple weeks to production.
So, 49c it's the final price for with decals or without decals (blanks)? And how many chips can fit in SFRB's?

I keep coming back to Post #879 to look at the actual chip photo to daydream.
...Hi, my name is John, and I'm a PR0N addict. It's been 1 hour since my last visit. :ROFLMAO:

Here's a dumb question: We're all planning to clean and then oil these when they arrive, right? I've been researching the "Compression Oiling" method but I don't know if I'm brave enough to try it. So, I'm going to practice on my Majestics sample set.

Just some extra info WRT labels: I talked to both Apache and ABC, and ABC will be making all of the labels in all denominations. They should match pretty close to those from China, with ABC's being "better", "thicker", and have better adhesion than stock. They won't have any to buy until the chips come in, so don't freak out like I did that you don't see them for sale yet :)

Chips definitely look sooo much better with oil, but it makes them feel slippery IMO. I was 100% all in for oil, but over time, realized that you need to keep applying it, and its a lot of work.

However, if you use the chips often enough, the oil from your fingers accomplishes the same thing.

I'll probably clean the dust of the new chippies with an oiled rag when I get them, but dont think I'll coat them/let them dry etc. Hopefully using them will accomplish the same thing without having the slippiness.

This. Stuff happens. I'd say a mid-Aug expectation would be pretty accurate.

It has been 5 weeks since an update, which is fine because that update said production should be done by the end of June. As we get into a new month and the first few days of the week shake out, it would be nice if @Apache could pop in over the next 24-48 hours....even if it's just "my last word from them says they are on schedule. I should have something concrete soon".

A motto of PCF is "you can never have too many chips"....I feel the same way about business as far as updates. Customers never get annoyed when they get a check in.

Updates are good, but this isn't my first ride on the group-buy chip train. I know that...
  • Group-buys are an extension of an already functioning, busy, and understaffed business.
  • No news is good news. It means there have been no extensive foul-ups as those happen more often than not (original CPS, Boardwalk, or many others)
  • China is amazingly slow. Customs is even slower. New tariffs may cause additional slow-downs.
  • Patience, patience, patience. When you get a email saying your shipment is on it's way, flip out. Then practice more patience as you watch your chips go from Las Vegas to Guam. Someone's chips always go to Guam.
  • Post pron when they finally arrive. It torments those who are still waiting for their chips to arrive. :sneaky:

+1

@Apache is as solid as they come when he does PCF group-designed bulk buys and production. Responsive, thorough, and fair. We’re in good shape here. These chips appear to be one of the best examples of china clays produced yet, and it’s awesome we had a hand in helping make them to reality.

There goes a man who's been around the block.

Is there any way to get majestic labels that will fit the blanks for these chips?

Is it out of line to respectfully ask (without a hint of annoyance) for a quick 2 sentence update after 35 days? By the replies it definitely seems so. Excited to get these chips whether it be July 27th or Sept 3rd. Carry on everyone

Sorry, but I have to respectfully disagree. I've re-read a few times now, and I can't see where someone finds your request out of line. You've got some responses on what to expect regarding PCF group buys, that's all.
