Hello to Everybody,
Many many years ago I bought a set of 6 stripe (or 6 stripes, six stripe, six stripes... whatever) that at that time was classified as composite clay.
I arrived from cheap generations of plastic with metal insert so absolutely satisfied by their smooth feel.
Now I'd like to buy several hundreds more but I got crazy since someone sell them at 10g and others at 8.5g, mine look to be 8.0g ( I weighted 100 per times having 80 grams).
Also I cannot understand colors, some sellers have the white chip with light blue marks instead of dark blu like mine.
Could anyone tell me more about these chips, I guess I really need someone in the business since at least 10 years.

In your opinion what I should look for 7.5 or more probably 10g (which seems to be much easier to find at the moment?

"Composite clay" is just another word for "mostly plastic". It does not automatically mean "bad", but they are highly mass produced and don't really hold a lot of value. But perfectly usable if that's all you need. If they are 8g then most likely no insert.
With luck, you should be able to find more of your exact design on websites that deal with bulk, non-denominated chips. eBay may even have what you're looking for. Different batches from the same manufacturer can have colour inconsistencies, so you'll need to consider this.

These 6-stripers comprised my very first set of poker chips.

At the time, I had them hotstamped with denominations. They served me well but were very plasticy and slippery when stacked. I really enjoyed them at least 15 years or so, until PCF showed me exactly how much more there is out there ;) .

Though the 6-stripes do a very good job at being a poker chip, for a little more money there are a variety of chips available at a myriad of sites:

...not to mention the classifieds right here at PCF.

Dear Guys,
yes I know that these are not amazing chips, at time that were bought the prices were significantly higher in the market.

I am thinking about a custom made 300-500 chips set for smaller game but did not have time yet to identify a manufacture.

Since often we play in many people with 2 tables I'd like to reach 1200 chips, but if price is good maybe more. We all have lot of memories around these little friends ;-)

Main problem is about to really identify what I have, so if I really need to look for 7.5 or 10... mine weight 8-8.5
I'd like to buy more about these colors and add maybe another color if available..

I have thousands of the older Langworty chips in this style. There are no slugs in the chips I have. Yours for basically shipping cost if your interested.
Pat

I am very grateful for your reply but really I did not understand what you mean with slugs. I guess Langworty was the manufacturer?

Langworthy is the maunufacturer, They do not have the metal insert.

These were my gateway drug many, many, many years ago.

I grew up in with the thin plastic K-Mart/Walmart plastic "wafer-like" chips with the interlocking ribbed edges that came in red-white-and blue. In college thought I was cool, upgrading to these 8-stripes "heavy" chips. (This was all pre-internet days, so finding someone that sold them locally was a coup in and of itself)...

Of course that lead to a deeper addiction to the hard stuff, an when the internet/eBay came into existence, I soon found out these things called "Paulsons" were the real crack I was looking for. A whole new world opened up.

Heh. About the same here. Years ago, there was a local casino supply store here in Austin that sold the 6 stripers in about 10-15 colors and would get them hotstamped as well. I was like "these are SO cool!" ...and they were at the time. ;)

Ancient history and that place is now OoB.

I agree with all of you guys.
I hate metal insert and finding a good chip that give me the same feelings, possibily without denomination is not easy. I use both for Tournament and Cash so blank are better.

I contacted some online seller and was going to post a "WANTED" ad on adeguate section of this forum but I still not understood the matter of weight.
Some talks about 7.5 Sopranos most talk about 10g. Mine are 8.0 but have the color of the 10g? I refer to the white chip with dark blue edges (others are white with light blue or white with grey edges).
