Advice for a cheap cash game set (1 Viewer)

I’m usually not one to tell noobs to spend more than their set budget, but I’ve got to agree with @TX_Golf_N_Poker here - if you stretch your budget just a little, you can get casino grade Paulson chips.

Your other options are primarily chips that are designed to look casino quality but lack in terms of feel.

I’d go with a $1-200, $5-80, $25-20 set though for a bigger bank.

I agree that is a more typical breakdown, but I tweaked it because he specifically stated a couple of times that his group likes having a lot of $1s on the table.

I would push the budget as far as you can with Paulsons. If you ever decide or need to let them go, you’ll sell them for more than you spent.

I WOULD GET LEADED ROULETTS , imo THEY FEEL AS GOOD OR BETTER THAN thc OR rhc AND YOU CAN GET GOOD ONES FOR .40 A POP IF YOU LOOK LONG ENOUGH. AS LONG AS YOU CAN LIVE WITH NON DENOMINATION CHIPS. i can :) THEY COME IN EVERY COLOUR AND IF YOU ARE PICKY THERE ARE MINT ONES OUT THERE !!

That's very tempting, I'll definitely look into buying that because I've been dreaming of owning Paulsons
With 5-8 players, you could get by with 200 chips (100/60/40) with starting stacks of 10/6. That would hold 10 players, with 25's used for rebuys. That said, you won't regret spending a couple of extra bucks on a 300 chip Paulson sale from Jim.

I got a set of majestics from Apache poker and feel they fit my needs just fine. They’re way better than regular “dice” chips quality wise and have the satisfying poker chip sound.

not gonna lie I do want to spend some money on higher quality chips. It’s hard to balance needs/wants… maybe once I’ve got a steady group of people to play every other week I’ll consider it.

I just want to say that a poker night where everybody buys in 20BB deep, rebuying if/when felted, sounds like an absolute blast. It might not contribute to the highest skill levels being on display, but there would certainly be a whole lot of whooping and hollering. It would probably make me take up drinking again, though, so that would be bad.
