Congrats on the 10K!!!
----
Poppin' my meetup cherry at the Shootout at the Post.
EPIC.
Winning my belt buckle, unable to do anything wrong in the Rodeo Tournament.
All my run good for the weekend was used up in that one tournament.
I sucked the rest of the time, succumbing to a cold I had caught on the way there...missing the main event!

A very close second...almost too close to call...
When @David O told me I made a mean pulled pork. (at @bivey's meetup in 2019)
I hold that one near and dear to my heart.

And giving @detroitdad a big ole' hug the moment I met him...only realizing after it was likely weird to hug a technical "stranger"...
I am a hugger...what can I say?
I was at that shootout and really enjoyed it. Many great chippers attended that one. I have too many greats to come up with one.

Miss you and Hubby. Hope we get to see you all again sometime!

In and many congrats to you Anthony!

How about your first, first place finish! I know it probably doesn't rank up there, but was still very cool to be part of it with you David

We both got to sneak out with some new hardware... mine has a Big #2 on it... pretty fitting, first looser is good enough for me! Haha

Looking forward to seeing you again in the future buddy!

I’m in. Thanks and congratulations.

My best poker memory was my first time in a casino. I was in Tahoe on a company ski trip and barely had the nerve to play. I was in my 20s and very broke. A few VPs urged me to join the game and I was new at the job so I agreed. Walked away with a few hundred bucks. All dumb luck.

My worst poker memory was leaving that money in my rented ski pants that I returned to the resort after a long day on the slopes the very next day.

Sorry I have no pics of the event.

Yes, that rates up there! That was a great meetup. I look forward to more in the future and I look forward to seeing you as well.

Someone said a pic of your pet ?

Here you go :

And here's a pic of me few years ago. It was a 210 players tournament.
The previous year I finished 4th and the year of the pic, I took the win.

I was still young... Almost 7 years ago.

Congrats on the milestone! Enjoy following along with your thread for Cuban updates! IN!

Not played any meet up-games, damn Covid, but here's a pic from a memorable night at our weekly league game. For weeks leading up this hand, the resident OMC constantly got the better of me and luck boxed his way to beating me. e-v-e-r-y damn time. Such as him calling my AA shove pre-flop with 53o. Anyway, I digress, this was my revenge when I turn the Royal Flush. Lucky for me I think he shows up with JJ for a boat and I get all the chips.

Also, for extra points. Here's one of my cats next to a suitably named Christmas tree decoration :D

Congrats on your 10K! This is an awesome giveaway and I've really enjoyed reading all the entries here as well as your adventures as a poker pro. :)

Here's a poker story:

The year when it was announced Harrah's bought out Binion's and thus the WSOP (2004), I wanted to play poker at Binion's just to say "I played poker there" (before everything moved to the Rio). I was very new to poker at the time and never played in a casino setting. I remember reading up on the etiquette and just being mindful of the n00b mistakes to avoid.

The staff were really nice to me and I found myself at a table full of locals. I had no idea at the time but it was very much like this. I remember winning the very first hand I was dealt (so I got that going for me, which is nice). I bet on the flop and everyone folded. One guy looked up at me and said, "See, it's as easy as that." I knew right then I was in trouble.

About an hour later a new player joined our table and started cleaning up. He was really chatty and extremely friendly - as if the casino was his house and he was making sure everyone was having a good time. He was encouraging everyone to gamble, basically, and my alarms were going off. I played 1 more orbit and bounced. Overall, I was only down 5 dollars and a guy remarked, "Hey, that's not bad all things considered". I feel like I dodged one, there.

Before I left, I wanted to keep a $1 chip as a souvenir. In my absolute ignorance I asked the cashier if there were any newer chips. She looked at me like I asked her for a Ferrari.

This is the chip I grabbed before I left. It's probably my favorite one in my collection.

This is an awesome giveaway and let's us share our passion for chips and the game of poker!! A few weeks ago we had a fun little game with some people I know. Played with my newly acquired illegal set and boy was it fun. 9 player tournament and I ended up getting 5th which isn't horrible for me considering I haven't played much. Everyone had such a good time getting to play with chips that were from the 40s-50s and the Chicago Mob most likely played with!
