This is just wrong. I look at that top slice of toast, and all I can think of is
log-rolling-water.gif

I can assure you my sandwich was structurally sound - the bread was malleable and the condiments added a coefficient of friction that helped to maintain structural integrity :ninja:

I took the opportunity with my digital license plate to ask all my tailgaters the same question.
I didn't even realize this was a thing, but apparently there's a bill moving in Florida now to legalize them here.

(Digital license plates, not hot dog sandwiches.)

Man, I really don't know the answers to the toughest of life's questions, but, I do know that I love them! And that's all I need to know...

Question: is a “hot dog” just the sausage, or the sausage and bun? In which case, isn’t “hot dog in a bun” redundant?

Though, just throwing this out there.

There is no legal definition of what a sandwich is, unlike bourbon.

Is Jack Daniels bourbon? Technically, yes, based on the legal definition of bourbon.

I have yet to see a legal definition of what a sandwich is.

Personally - a sandwich is meat in between 2 pieces of bread. Bread is the key. A hot dog bun is not 2 pieces of bread.

Which makes it a taco?

No. A taco is meat inside a tortilla.

A hot dog inside a tortilla would be a taco (a disgusting one I would say).

A hot dog wrapped in a tortilla would be a burrito.
Agree, so it's a sub or a hoagie.

Edit: (of course it is a hotdog)

No. A sub or hoagie (I'm from Chicago, so it's a sub, though I travel to Philadelphia for business a lot and lived in New Jersey for 5 years, and it's a hoagie) is sliced meat on a sub roll (or hoagie roll).

Encased meats on a sub roll or bun are not a sandwich...

BUT WAIT!!!!!

If you are in Indy, then you know about Portillos and various Chicago specialties.

Beef
Sausage
Famous breaded steak at Ricobene's

They all have a specific name.

Wait for it....

Beef Sandwich
Sausage Sandwich
Breaded Steak Sandwich

So this blows the hot dog not a sandwich thing completely out of the water.
