Most of these chips say Argosy on the face. They have all been cancelled with a hot stamp. Some of the hot stamps have been removed, but an indent remains. The stamps can be removed with non-acetone nail polish remover. These chips are not drilled and notched like most of the Argosy chips that were sold in the Paulson store.

The .50 chips say Indiana Gaming Co. and have not been cancelled with the hot stamp

I have four "small game" sets and four "big game" sets. Here are the prices for PayPal with shipping included CONUS. US residents get priority.

Small Game

1 - 200
5 - 75
Total 475 ($379)

Big Game
1- 300
5 -300
25 -100
100 -35
500 -5
Total 740 ($566)

Racks of .50 can be added on to any set for $100 a rack, or $150 a rack without a set purchase.

Great prices on these chips. Would the canceled hotstamp be noticeable under a label do you think?

Rule of thumb is any hotstamp will need to be milled before acceptable relabeling can commence. OP notes the indent is still present.

GLWS sir, nice chips.

If these could be relabeled with no milling and no hotstamp showing through after the gear label I'd take a small cash set.

What about if the hot stamp was removed. Would the residual indent be an issue (in your opinion) in terms of labeling?

I don't have these specific chips, but the inlay is usually plastic coated to protect it, so the hotstamp is melted right into the plastic and the chip material. Removing the gold hotstamp with acetone doesn't make the hotstamp smooth. Blank hotstamp chips can be scraped smooth but with the inlay it might have to be removed to get the chip smooth enough. If the inlay isn't smooth then when you add a label you might get wobbly stacks with spinners if the indent isn't deep enough.

That makes sense. I assume the foil gets eaten away by the non-acetone nail-polish remover, leaving an indent in the inlay where the foil used to be.

edit: made clear to use non-acetone nail-polish remover

The foil itself is less than a mil thick. It is the act of pressing the hotstamp into the surface to bond the foil into the surface of the chip that distorts the surface.

I have some of the River city chips and maybe this image will show better the damage to the surface, even after removing the foil. Again, I don't know if that can be scraped smooth for a label without removing the inlay. Clay can be scraped but plastic may be harder to do.

Please don't ruin that tourney set!!!!!!!

Edit. Just realized you were talking about removing the canceled stamp. Carry on.

I'll take a gamble on a small cash game set being able to be relabled. Pm coming.

DO NOT use acetone on chips, it will totally melt them.

HQ's reference to removing the hot-stamps from inlay chips was to use NON-acetone fingernail polish remover. The normal stuff is death to chips.

This a brazillion times

So the stamp is only on one side of the chip?

It is on both sides of the chip. I am sure the ones pictured are just to show what they look like with the stamp removed. I have some and the stamp is easily removed with non-acetone nail polish remover.

I played with a limit game with a 50c set once. It's a lot of fun playing lower stakes but moving around huge stacks - highly recommended!
