Interested in large cash set but would be helpful to know what else will be available?

Don't wait! Spend your moneys NOW or you'll regret it!

DrStrange

Good advice. Always easier to later sell what you don't want to keep, than to pry something you want out of somebody else's hands because you didn't buy it in the first place.

I have tons more regret for chips I didn't buy than for any of the ones I did (except maybe the early dice/crown slugs). Just do it.

I have learned that you buy early and large to get what you want and sell off what you don't

Sorry, late to the party. As others have noted above, the problem with labelling over hotstamps is not the foil, but the indents/ridges left behind. As its name indicates, "hot stamping" uses heat, which slightly melts the surface being stamped.

Removing the foil is (apparently) easy but removing the indents/ridges, or even just smoothing them, is a whole other game. Milling hotstamped inlays is a terrible idea - ask me how I know that. :cautious::eek:

I would recommend removing the inlays entirely and replacing them with laminated labels. (I offer that service - PM me for details if you're interested.) There's no guilt since the inlays are already damaged :) If these were SCV/LCV instead of RHC, I would have bought a set already, to do just that!

Sage advice ^^^.
Are the 1s and 5s all in the same condition and to confirm, the stamp is on both sides correct?

Sorry, not trying to be a PITA.

The edge spots on these chips are pretty sweet. Seems like a no brainer for anyone with a re-lable project

What we need is chip Spackle that can be used to fill in the depressions made by a hot stamp and smooth out the surface. The material needs to be inert so that it does no damage to either the chip or the label, and it must be a material that the labels will adhere to. Surely somebody can invent this!

Chips are only stamped on one side iirc

Actually I think I'm wrong

In other words I have no idea sorry.

Homer: Oh Marge, there is no doggie heaven!

Marge: (clears throat, looks pointedly at Lisa, who has a panic-stricken look and tears in her eyes)

Homer: Or, to put it another way... there... is.

All the chips with the stamp intact are stamped on both sides. Many of the chips have had the foil removed.

Thanks. So are the chips in the large cash set also in the same chalky/sharp condition as the ones in the OP?

All Argosy chips are sold pending funds! Thanks for the interest. Check the main thread for the next set soon to come.

I moved a little slow on this one but let me know if anybody bails on one of the larger cash sets. I don't really need that many big denom chips if that helps.

You're selling a couple sets in this thread, not taking orders from members to place a big order so everyone can get in. It's just a For Sale thread.

Thanks for that Tommy.

I am taking orders for sets. This lot doesn't get released, at a discount, unless we sell all the sets.

Everyone has equal chance to participate, no one is excluded.
