I've made the call. @softchewy is the winner based on the data I had in front of me. Again, thanks for those who bid on this and supporting a good cause.
I just told my wife about the poker chips, people bidding and the donation to City of Hope. she was in tears. Her dad died 3 years ago this week. He was a 4-time survivor.
Don't intend to thread crap here, but shouldn't these situations, albeit rare, be handled via forum rules vs. leaving the seller in an uncomfortable situation?
This was a highly unusual instance in the fact that a bid from a new member was places during the last 5 minute rule, but wasn't approved by me until after the auction expired. To my knowledge this hasn't happened before, so its best to let the seller determine how he wants to sell his property.
I'm glad all parties could reach an agreement. Super amazing offer for someone for chips and even better is money for a great cause. Screw cancer.
Payments received. Chips shipping today. Thank you to @softchewy and @co35fire for their donations. Also a big thank you to those who made private donations. Very classy indeed.
The Seller posted awesome chips and sold them in support of a great cause. I am truly sorry if a misunderstanding on my part put anyone in an uncomfortable position. I guess I just need to be more active on the forums.
Since my post appeared on the thread, I mistakenly thought I was good. I take full responsibility. I most certainly was not trying to put anyone on the spot.
