Chipco sold them as a low-cost alternative/addition to their ceramic line. Marion & Co. also produced these.

Too bad they can't be labelled unless they're milled. Hot stamping is an option but then they'd have to be sent out for stamping... If I didn't have my large rental set of chips already I might consider this and find someone to ship them to me but methinks not.

Wow! Flipping controversy aside, I could see someone snagging these and parting them into more reasonable cash sets. 600 white $1 chips, 200 Green $25 chips and 200 black $100 chips. Or smaller 500 chip sets (300/100/100). These aren't horrible chips. My local casino uses hotstamped unicorns, and they be ok. Not paulsons, but they're selling for 1.5c ea.

I think you could ask 5-8c/chip parted out (maybe more). I just think there are too many chips to be useful to anyone individually...

I think Chipco had them listed at 15c each on their web site, when still open for business.

If I lived within an hour's drive, I'd pick 'em up and offer them in smaller bundles to the PCF community at my cost.

For the dyes, is it possible to make them now by 3D printing them?

Correct sir, it appears a big challenge, other than getting a hot stamping machine, is getting/making dies. There's a really large variety of substrates for 3D printers these days so I'm wondering if there's one available that could withstand the heat. I know a 3D printer manufacturer (yes they make 3D printers) to see what can be done in this regard.

Sorry I wasn't very clear with my earlier post, I had hot stamping on my mind and thought I had mentioned it but obviously hadn't. I'd be tempted to grab these if I could find someone to ship them to me since I have access to a hot stamping machine, just no dies.

Each new custom table comes complete with a custom Chan hotstamped unicorn 500 piece poker chip set.

I like it!

Not yet, I just saw this post today and it peaked my interest. Great way to get a private custom set if I can make my own mold at a low cost. I would dig into it more but I'm about to go on vacation for 2 weeks. I might revisit this if they're still available by the time I come back.

If these are exactly the same as GameOn's, then you can use the thin labels that Gear makes..... I made a small 105 chips travel set and actually like the feel of them

What kind of material is the Unicorn Series made of ? Are they like China Clays ?

From what I've read it's plastic with a textured surface.

I've never seen those chips in person but I was always confused in the beginning when people would call them unicorn chips...I thought it was a bull on them. lol Torro!

It's been a while since I've handled any, but my recollection is that they felt like a more plasticky version of china clays.

I had a rack of 25 cent unicorn chips from one of the Washington casinos. Very plastic feeling and light, also hot stamps appeared painted on. To summarize everything about them sucks imo, would rather play with super diamond or even gasp dice chips.

Ho Chunk uses these as their tourney chips. They're incredibly "meh" IMO - but theirs are well used, kinda grimey, and the stamps are wearing off. Very plastic-y and quite light too. Hard to beat the price though.

Advertised as 8-gram nylon. Lower-tier chip to be sure, but priced accordingly. Still better than slugged overweight abs junk at similar price points, imo.

I know an old post but I had these same chip- a good deal on craiglist.
They were nowhere near the quality of the Chipco Unicorns.
You get what you pay for. 1.5 quality for 1.5cents.

I recently sold two boxes of these on eBay, these exact boxed sets. I didn't like them, just too plastic feeling. Extremely textured surfaces, I honestly don't think a label would last on them. Comparable to a super diamond except not as slippery.
