Deckmate 1 Guide (5 Viewers)

@minedelta where can I get a shim card for plastic cards mentioned in the guide, F1106? I can't get the separator to be at the right height. I either press too hard on the cards and they don't go through or too lose and they send too many. I've been getting the missing 1 card error a lot. Suggestions on how to get that sweet spot? Using Copag Bridge size.

Skip the shims you need to use the exact cards you are going to be using for the height adjustment. Use two playing cards and depending on if you have a pair of metal center rollers which is a little more firm pressure or urethane rollers then it's on the lighter side. It will take some playing around with until you figure it out but I have never used shims.

I have the metal roller. I've tried using two cards before and it sends two cards. If I put any pressure down on the two cards, it doesn't send any. I assume I should do more than just let it rest on two cards, correct? You're saying press harder with metal correct?

Yes it's a slight firm pressure and after you lock the rollers down 1 card should move freely under and when you try to move two cards through there will be resistance. You just got to keep playing with the pressure to get a feel for it.

It's a shame...I just can't figure it out. It's only been 9 months.

Looks like you are still new here. When you are able to send me a pm of a video of your deckmate shuffling with the side covers off and pictures of the rollers.

I also have the metal rollers on the separator. Place 2 of the cards you will be using under the rollers and push down with slight pressure. It doesn’t take much force. After you tighten the separator attempt to manually feed 2 cards through. 2 cards should not fit after you are done.

I have access to a few DM1s all over town, but before I do so and open one...

Does anyone know what the internal operation voltage (or voltages) is in a DM1? I'm trying to figure out whether I can run one on a battery "easily"

Good evening, gentlemen :) Would like to start off by saying thank you for this super informative thread. Truly a gem. I have quite an annoying issue with my DM1 that I was hoping someone might be able to help me solve. I've been having frequent jams, so I popped off the cover and observed the operation of the machine to try figuring out what was causing it. After much intense staring, I noticed that the grippers didn't seem to be properly supporting the cards. After gripping, when the platform moves down to create an opening for the new card, I noticed that quite often 1 or 2 (and rarely, 3) cards from the bottom of the gripped pile end up falling. This happens at least dozen times per shuffle. If I'm unlucky, the falling cards collide with the incoming card and cause a jam. I booted the machine with the red button down and did the calibration with no improvement. I was able to source a brand new set of the gripper pads, and much to my dismay it still did not fix the problem. The only thing I can think of is alignment...

Per the manual,
Open the grippers as far out as possible.
4. Raise the platform by pulling down on the Platform Motor Belt.
5. Place the Platform Fixture, part number F1094, on the platform.
6. Carefully lower the platform and gauge below the grippers. Avoid ‘wedging’
the gauge in the platform area.
7. Push the grippers all the way in.
8. Raise the platform and the fixture up to contact the bottom of the grippers.
The gripper pads should not move side-to-side if the platform is level.
I don't have "F1094" and was not able to find it anywhere, so I improvised. I'm no surgeon but I'm relatively confident I did an okay job. The problem is I have no idea where to go from here. Has anyone experienced this issue or have any advice for me? I'm at my wit's endo_O

Is it possible we get a video of the issue with the top off? What cards are you using? Bridge or poker size? If bridge, do you have the bridge bars?

Hey there, thanks for the reply :) Here is a video. I am using bridge size cards (with bars installed) in the video, but I have the same problem with poker size also. I tried to emphasize the issue as much as I could. Didn't get a jam here but I think you will quickly notice the issue...

I would remove the gripper assembly and inspect the belts etc. Make sure everything is greased. The gripper assembly can come out by removing two thick screw in the front where the platform belt is. Unplug the gripper motor and while looking st the front remove the right gripper arm only. Then unplug the gripper sensor and everything should slide out to the left.

I would definitely check the belt for the grippers. They are certainly not closing enough as the cards should have a bend to them when being held in place. You can order a new belt from https://sdp-si.com/

Truly appreciate the help guys. I will check the belt ASAP and report back in case someone else encounters this in the future.
