Beginners Sample Pack (6 Viewers)

So I’ve spent a fair amount of money on sample chips. I’ve seen it mentioned a few times and wish I had the option when I first started. So here is a basic sample set of chips to get an idea of what you might like and hopefully save you a little money so you have more to spend on what you want.

What you get:

10 of each style; Milano, Scroll, Poker Knights, Sunfly Hybrids (unlabeled), Chipco (basically the same as GOCC), Mint, OWPS color wheel (Sunfly ceramics), Nexgen, Majestic (blank), Unicorn.
If you’re looking for CPC or Paulson chips there are other ways to acquire those at reasonable prices.

Rules:
Please make any suggestions as to what you’d like to see included.

This is a loaner sample set and I will be requiring a $60 deposit (please see PayPal PCF rules/warnings) plus SFRB shipping cost. If the set grows it’ll need to go into a MFRB and deposit will grow but feedback might cause that to happen.

Deposit will be refund after the chips have been received back by me in satisfactory condition. Things happen and these are intended to be shuffled so I won’t be super picky but broken or lost chips need to be replaced so I’ll have to charge for that.

Let me know if you have questions or anything you think I missed.
How are those majestic chips. Is it worth buying a set of those now or waiting a little bit until I can find a set of top end paulsons for a reasonable price

Brutal.

I am just starting my journey here, and I’m not good at the internet - I don’t use Reddit or social media, even though yes I am an elder millennial

I don’t want to be a tool and ask questions that have been answered, but I’m also struggling to find what I’m looking for.

A) it’s amazing that you put this together - major good karma to you.

B) I’m ok with spending money on samples, but I don’t know which chips are the “same” - basically trying to figure out a list of the main “types” before I get too far into the weeds - meaning the specific thing to buy rather than “china clays” or “Tina”.

It seems like when you buy samples you’re getting multiple chips of the same type, just in different colors or maybe molds.

C) is there a list of chips to sample that would serve as a 101, noob starting point? Like, from dice chips to Paulsons, just to have felt them all in my hands.

D) would it make sense for one or more folks to purchase barrels of each, and then make pre-packaged “official” PCF noob sample sets for *sale* rather than loan, so this great idea doesn’t get sunk by a random douche?

E) does this already exist and I just can’t find it because I’m a dum dum?
Hey Big Tim, I started this journey a couple months ago and admit it's all a bit overwhelming... tons of jargon, lots of convoluted business history, and then changes in manufacturing technology that result in about 5 different types of chips to consider, all at different price points.

I bought a ton of samples, and then have been accumulating barrels (20 chips), and perhaps I have enough miscellaneous extras now to put together a new traveling sample set... I'll tinker with that this week. I wasn't a part of the earlier traveling set which dropped off sometime a year or more ago, not sure what happened to it.

Hobbyphilic on YouTube is probably the best source for seeing human hands playing around with different chips. He's here on PCF and has tons of videos over many years, with annual "guide to buying chips 2024"-style titles that go over all the main types of chips that are available. I need to see photos/videos to make sense of chips, can't just read :)
