Beginners Sample Pack (2 Viewers)

I have faux clays I could donate to this sample set. However, because faux clays are no longer available, it seems odd to include them. That said, if you want them, they are yours, @Forty4.

Boy, this is an awesome thing.

@Forty4 if you want to swap out some of the Milanos for a few different colors including some with custom labels from @ABC Gifts and Awards I can donate some.

Just let me know... I could ship them off to whoever currently has the samples ( @karsus I think?) and he can include them in the set going back to you...

I currently have the beginners set -- actually handling the chips has been an eye opening experience. Thank you again @Forty4 for putting together this amazing resource.

@aaronroch , I dropped you my address via pm, I'll make sure the extras get added into the set. Speaking of extras I have some extra plastic 14g chips (think Monte Carlos but they are labeled Ace casino) -- they are cheap but might be helpful as a comparison-- let me know

A good sample of Milano variations on their way to karsus this morning.

Included a couple of custom labels (vinyl w/ matte polycarbonate laminate from http://abcgiftsandawards.com/

Hi, been looking at a few different chipset options and found this forum from Reddit. Would love to try the sample set if it's still available/being rented. @Forty4

Put me in the queue as well, dont need the ceramics though. Already have samples of tiki, scroll, laurel, dropa, muertos, class from brpro

So I’ve spent a fair amount of money on sample chips. I’ve seen it mentioned a few times and wish I had the option when I first started. So here is a basic sample set of chips to get an idea of what you might like and hopefully save you a little money so you have more to spend on what you want.

What you get:

View attachment 145518 View attachment 145519

10 of each style; Milano, Scroll, Poker Knights, Sunfly Hybrids (unlabeled), Chipco (basically the same as GOCC), Mint, OWPS color wheel (Sunfly ceramics), Nexgen, Majestic (blank), Unicorn.
If you’re looking for CPC or Paulson chips there are other ways to acquire those at reasonable prices.

Rules:
Please make any suggestions as to what you’d like to see included.

This is a loaner sample set and I will be requiring a $60 deposit (please see PayPal PCF rules/warnings) plus SFRB shipping cost. If the set grows it’ll need to go into a MFRB and deposit will grow but feedback might cause that to happen.

Deposit will be refund after the chips have been received back by me in satisfactory condition. Things happen and these are intended to be shuffled so I won’t be super picky but broken or lost chips need to be replaced so I’ll have to charge for that.

Let me know if you have questions or anything you think I missed.
Any preference for ceramics? I'm new to the forum and have never had a nice set of chips before, I'd like to start getting my hands on a few to try some things out!

Are these still available? I just got into this forum and the poker chip market, and would love to just shuffle some sample chips and see which ones I like the best before making a few hundred dollar purchase. Thanks!

I really like the sunfly 43mm. But the functionality of them is great. You can do some interesting things with ceramics full face printing. See @Mr Tree Paymasters set for inspiration.

I’m workingon getting the set back if I’m successful I’ll let you know.

Hey everyone. Thanks for all the great info. I'm learning a lot. I'd like to get in the quite que for this great offer and opportunity to check these out.
Thanks!

Thanks for putting another set together @Forty4.
Will it contain basically what was in the first set?
Looking forward to checking out some chips!

Lol! Hollar out which ones do you like best, somebody will tell you.

@Forty4, when you get these back let me know, I’ll swap out the grey Milanos for a proper sample set, plus a couple of ABC’s custom labels so folks can see/feel those too.

Hey everyone! Sample set is headed back today.

I'd like to give a huge shout it to @Forty4. The generosity of this loaner set is really awesome. I've already learned a ton and it's in large part to really great folks helping us newbie's out.

Thoughts: least favorite were the Matsuis. Something about the weight and the feel. Plasticy?
The Sunfly hybrids didn't do it for me either. I really wanted to like them, but the sound of them didn't compare for me.
I thought the Milanos were ok, but the Royals blew me away for a CC. I actually bought a sample set of the royals and cleaned and oiled them. The colors are amazing. That blue and the pink. So nice. I really like the 43mm size also.

But I think my favorites, surprisingly, were the Elites and the PCF promo chips.
I think I read they were actually Paulson lites?
The edges. The colors. How they stack. How they feel. I think they were the best chips for me.
Unfortunately it looks like they aren't being made anymore, and there aren't any sets in the classifieds.
I ended up going with pulling the trigger on the Royals.
The price is right. For a CC, they are awesome. I love the colors. Going to end up doing a custom set.
Thanks again Forty4!

Hey, I'm new to PCF and was wondering if you're still doing these loaner sample packs. I've mostly been playing with dice sets in the past but recently joined some home games with friends who own different plastic slug/clay composite sets (14g Ultimate chips and 13.5g Poker Knights/Monaco Club chips). These feel somewhat better than the cheap plastic dice chips, but I'm wanting something worth the money. I'm looking to purchase my own set but want to get a feel of the different types of chips before I pull the trigger.
