Best Bond... James Bond (3 Viewers)

Zero interest in this, even if there wasn't a pandemic. Craig is terrible. They might as well have cast Chuck Norris
Can I ask what age bracket you are in? Only because I feel like that's kind of important when it comes to which bond people like. I grew up with pierce Brosnan, so I really love him as Bond (though after Goldeneye his movies got progressively worse).

But Craig is my favourite, I like the fact that he is a less sophisticated bond. Roger Moore is honestly a joke, just a ginger nerd. Couldn't fight his way out of a wet paper bag.

I've not watched many of the early ones, but I do like Sean Connelly.

Honestly I just get super excited about any Bond movie. Living away from England now makes me get that warm tingly feeling whenever I see the movie. It's the same as the world cup fever for me lol

The first Bond movie that I saw was Moonraker, even though I am named after the Bond of the books. Loved it as a small child, hate it now. I always loved the books which is why Dalton is number one. Smart, tough, resourceful, the perfect 007.
Craig is just a charisma free ugly shortarse who travels from location to location robotically beating people up. They are literally indistinguishable from any number of b- movies.

Maybe, but at least he's not kitesurfing shrapnel down an arctic tidal wave wearing only a jumper and trousers lol god that movie was cheesy

Die Another Day was a Brosnan film, and it was very poor. No worse than the scene in Quantum of Soulless when Craig opens a parachute seconds before crashing face first into a rocky cavern and emerges unscathed.
My point is that Brosnan was portraying a recognisable James Bond, even if the films got worse and worse. Craig is just another cardboard cut out tough guy, and 3 of his 4 films have been garbage too.

I would have a hard time picking between Dalton and Connery, I never understood why Dalton got a bad rap, both movies I still like to watch and licence to kill was hardcore

Brosnan was bond when I grew up but my dad is a big bond fan so I grew up watching all of them, over and over and over.

My biggest problem with the Craig movies is that every single one after casino royale is "hey Bond is gone on a rogue mission! and there is some sort of origin story in it!" I'm probably biased because I grew up with it, but after 2 movies could we not had just had a bond movie? Double padded doors, someone gives him a mission, mission happens, ect. I miss that

Dalton was simply uncharismatic as Bond. He comes across as overly refined, not a spy. The same reason Lazenby fails as Bond, so goes Dalton.

Dalton is best cast as someone who always has complete control of his situation, not someone who could be ambushed or who needs to reassess an ever changing situation while in the field. He lacks that edge, and for that reason most men - and women - find him distasteful.

I don't understand your point about Dalton being uncharismatic, but I absolutely disagree. I don't know where you get the idea that women find him distasteful, but you are completely wrong. I know lots of women who worship Dalton.
swap your comments to describe Daniel Craig and you'd be right.

James Bond is Scottish not English... just saying  :ROFLMAO:

Bond has a Scots father and a Swiss mother. He was born in Germany. None of those make him Scottish. If you're referring to the actors who've played him then Bond has been American, Scots, English, English, Australian, English, Welsh, English, , Irish, English and English.
If you include Christopher Cazenove in the BBC modern heroes season then that's another Englishman.

FFS! Fleming said he was Scottish. He did it as a tribute to big Sean. Now away with you!!

Fleming did it as blatant opportunism. Maybe Tom Clancy meant the captain in Hunt For Red October to be from Edinburgh too?

You are clearly single. :sneaky:

I like the cash set better in THC and BCC, but prefer the GPI tournament denoms.

No Roger Moore is really awful. He just looks so ungainly and unathletic. I can't imagine he'd be able to fight his way out of a wet paper bag.

Plus his gun stance is so awkward. He's the least cool person of all time.
I think that part of the reason (that this statement is dead on) has more to do with the times. The 70s was such an ugly time. Bad suits, bad hair, bad cars, ugly everything.

In Sir Roger Moore's defense, he was too old to push the athleticism of his character, so they switched him to the more cerebral side. Stunts, though, became a big thing during his tenure.
