Interesting. None of those would even make my top 20 for purchases (maybe the Aztars), if i had an unlimited supply of money.
Including mid-range ceramics and Milanos (possibly the worst china clay ever produced) in the list is laughable. Perhaps you simply haven't been exposed yet to the really good stuff.
I've seen about 15-20 kinds of chip since coming here.
Yes, I have a set of Chipco but can't expect myself to always get those quality of chips. in fact, my 25c chips are from Old West and they are of comparable quality to the Wicked Spades.
I have looked at a handful of Paulsons but most of them are hot stamped and not my cup of Oolong.
Ones I have rejected outright:
1. Tiki Kings -- something about these do not strike me. the colors are nice enough but little else seems to appeal to me about it and it seems too cartoonish.
2. Majestic -- this is tough because I think Apache makes great China Clays but this one sucked mostly because the labels weren't consistent. I think I got 9 chips on my samples and 4 had an inconsistent brightness schematic. in other words, part of the word "majestic" was darker than other parts.
I didn't entirely reject the Pharaoh
CC but I do have it as a toss up for one reason... price. at 42c a chip plus tax, I can honestly start buying the ceramics because NJ Saloon are 45c a chip at one vendor.
3. All ABS/ Dice Chips -- simply put, I just can't play these.
4. Pretty much anything with a hot stamp it strikes me that most of those come off right away.
5. Venerati chips -- I like these designs except for the GD $1 chip. At $.39 each, these would be great but I can't do this as a cash set without customizing which will cost more.
I originally had Cleveland Horseshoe on this list but in recent months had taken it off. The people I hang around all are lukewarm on the design, but it seems like a good enough chip.
Not only now do I want to see your list but some pr0n of it if there really is that much better stuff out there.
