I can't help with the first question but I can for the second. You can not add prize payouts until you have added players. If you add some players to you game you will then be able to add prize payouts. If you try to add prizes without players, there is no 1st, 2nd, 3rd to select from and the app does crash. If you go back and add players, the places populate and you are good to go.

Looks pretty good. I have used Tournament Director for years. When I changed to Macs from Windows, I bought a bargain basement Windows notebook just to run Tournament Director. A decent iOS or OSX option would be much appreciated.

I've heard of the same glitch @Redbelly , I did some research and it turns out It has to do with how the image is processed in the code and if you have a picture of somebody that is just toooooo damn sexy it will crash. The most common occurrence is somebody trying to upload a picture of anybody named Travis, this will definitely not work because of the amount of good looking Travis' out there. Hi Julien!
I'm gearing up for my 5th game and trying to now change the picture in the area that the Up! Logo is located but the app is crashing. I moved on to the Background to change that image and the app is crashing. These are similar to the crashes that I am encountering when I try to edit the Players image. It would seem that the app is crashing whenever the app seeks to access the photo library. Any suggestions? Thank you in advance.

I would have said this:

Check the following setting - Setting - Privacy - Photos - BlindsUp - make sure the switch is active. Photo attached. View attachment 27691

Love the app. A quick question and one problem.

First, is there a way to bust a player without the app asking who scored the knockout?

Second, the app is crashing when I try to set payout structures. I can't seem to generate a new payout. When I try, the list of 1st,2nd,3rd to choose from does not populate. If you try to hit next, the app goes down with the null value.

I just add that the crash has been fixed, popover to add prizes does not open if there are no players registered

Friday night was my first night using Blinds Up Pro connected to my TV via IPad and HDMI cable,
I found I could not run Blinds Up and listen to my music at the same time. I have another blinds timer
app that will allow this, when it is time for an update from the blinds timer, the music fades and the announcement
happens, then the music comes back up. Is this possible with Blinds Up Pro?

Thank you for the new features. I do want to submit a bug report on an issue of my players table not updating after editing tourney finishers. I had to edit the final three of my last game, as it showed that I won, but did not award me any prize money. I was able to fix that, but my player record does not show me as finishing ITM or my total earnings. Screen shot is below.

How do I note that a player rebought? I have rebuys turned on and I can see in the player list where it says Rebuys 0 for each player, but I don't know how to add a rebuy to a player so updates the average chip stacks.

Press on the player you want to re-buy and it will bring up an options pop up. Select re-buy.

Then you have to pick who busted the player out.

Ah, I was trying that but I think I had rebuys disabled after round 0. Once I updated that it worked. Thanks! Purchased pro version last night

Had another tourney last night and the app worked great, loved the new features. I did want to report that twice the timer on my air play TV stopped, but it was still running on the iPad. Any ideas on this one?

This feature gives me fits. As a host and player, it is cumbersome to get money for a rebuy, mark it on the app, and find out who busted who. I understand it's useful if a league is keeping stats, but not so much otherwise. I also have to interrupt players at a table to find out what happened (when I'm at another table). If they have already moved on to another hand...

It would be great to be able to disable this feature.

That all be said - I do not want to complain too much. I love this app and it is exactly what an iOS person has been dreaming of. Thanks for putting this together!

I did talk to Julien about this very thing. We are looking at a large 50+ combined game to wrap up the season and I said that it would be easier on the host if a tournament could be run without the "who busted who" feature. Think it will be included in the future... timeline unknown however!

I will test with a connection to a TV screen, maybe the glitch is here.

Julien, the music issue I had has been corrected. A simple start up issue.

I PM'd Julien already, but wanted to get other people's take on this, maybe I'm missing something...

BIG Suggestion... Mixed game tourneys are becoming increasingly popular.

In creating a mixed game tourney, it does allow me to alternate rounds of varying formats (PLO vs NLHE, etc...). However, in the "layout" screen, it doesn't allow you to create an element that lists the current or next format... This would be very helpful. So, if you're playing a HORSE tourney (or any other rotation you choose), you might want to list each format, so the screen displays what game you're playing, and also what game format is coming next. Your thoughts?

I could also see this application if mixed home cash games... You simply use the timer to control the rotation of various rounds of play for a set time (maybe 20-30 mins each?), and current game will always be displayed. I could see this as beneficial for the MTTD for instance (a multi table cash game, where one table is running particular mixed game rotations). A new player could see the current game, time left, which format is coming next, etc...

Edited to add: Julien responded via facebook, and indicated this feature will be present in some fashion in the next update.

I'm a newbie to the AirPlay, Apple TV, etc... But I'm a long time TD software user, and considering getting this, based on the reviews by Redbelly. Could someone provide me links of what I need to buy in order to get my iPad to connect to my flat panel TV? Could more than one TV be connected?

You can display it on multiple tvs using a HDMI splitter. Plug in any video source on one end and the box will distribute that video to s number of TVs.

You can get them in plenty of sizes and two or 4 way splitters are quite inexpensive.

I attempted the Samsung mirroring software and it was inconsistent. Got it working once, stopped, couldn't get it going again for 30+ min, then all of a sudden got 5 more minutes.
Went out and got a 1st gen Apple TV, works well.

That was my plan as well, but I had hoped to save the $40+. My new setup will includse two TVs 30 feet apart so the cords would be a pain.

I have also tried Samsung software and another mirroring app - neither work consistently (or at all). Apple TV is your best bet, although I still have a problem where the timer will stop on the TV but continue on the ipad. Not sure what that's all about, but it hasn't affected the game. Someone usually yells out that the timer froze and I turn off and turn back on mirroring.

I'm having trouble getting a payout prize pool to work. I'm usually running single table tourneys, anywhere from 6-9 players, with re-buys. I'd like to setup a conditional prize pool tied to combined buy-ins and re-buys. I have the ability to handle 16 players, so I'd like the formula to fit for it just in case.

Like so:

If combined total is <8, then pay 1st 65%, 2nd 35%
If combined total is 8, then refund one buy-in to 3rd place, pay remaining amount to 1st 65%, 2nd 35%
If combined total is 9-15, then pay 1st 50%, 2nd 30%, 3rd 20%
if combined total is 16+, then refund one buy-in to 4th place, pay remaining amount to 1st 50%, 2nd 30%, 3rd 20%

Doable in this app? Anyone done this?
