Sitting Out
Hello everyone. I’ve been running a home game for a few years now. Right now we run a $1/$3 $500 Max Match cash game regularly right now, and the crowd likes sprinkling in $5 bomb pots. What we’ve done for a while is this: Whenever you win a hand with a full house or better, you get a “bomb pot” chip, which allows you to call a bomb pot whenever you want (which would usually be whenever you are either in the big blind or on the button). Recently we are implementing a new game.
The Bomb Pot Chip Board
12 chips are secured (scotch tape) to a wooden board face down. These chips are standard seating chips from BR PRO poker, with the colors of red, green, blue, and yellow. If you get a full house or better now, you simply pick one chip from the board:
8 red chips - Regular bomb pot chip
3 green chips - Regular bomb pot chip AND pick another chip
2 blue chips - Initiate $10 bomb pot for free
1 yellow chip - Regular bomb pot + Free tournament buy in (2025 Season)
If anyone is looking to introduce a cool little element to your cash game, this is an easy way to spend very little money and spend very little time (<10 minutes) to add some excitement. And obviously chip numbers and prizes can be adjusted according to what you’d like to specifically implement.
Thanks!
