Anyone ever hosted a bomb pot only night? One of my players expressed some interest in it. My main concern is it pushes the stakes way up, our usual buy ins are $15~$20 for 5c/10c, and our bomb pots are once an orbit dealer's choice with a 25c ante for most games. Even compared to a 25c/25c game, making every hand a bomb pot seems like it's going to lead to players busting out left and right. What are some solutions? Could be 10c ante (less of a bomb pot, but not nothing), could be played pot limit (don't think this will help), could be per street or per hand betting caps? It probably won't end up happening but I'm curious how other people would approach it.

Sounds like somebody in your group wants to raise the stakes to me.
Yeah, i think a 25c/25c PLO game is the middle ground ill end up on, just curious if anyone has done some mixed bomb pot only games and how it went.

TBH, I'm not a fan of the idea. But I'm not a fan of a lot of popular things like straddles, etc...

You're missing out on pre-flop play every hand.

There are other ways to increase action and effectively increase the bank roll players need to be prepared to commit too. I find bomb pots a little inelegant because you lose pre-flop play and mess with pot equity ratios so much. I prefer something that affects inter-hand play more than intranet-hand play if that makes sense.

At my game this weekend we want to get splashy so we’re going to be trying the squid game.

Put X markers in the middle where X is number of players. When someone wins a hand and shows, they get a marker. When all markers have been claimed, player(s) without markers pay Y (e.g 1 BB) to each player with a marker.

Or the more aggressive version:
When all markers have been claimed, player(s) without markers pay Y (e.g. 1BB) to each player with a marker for each marker they have. So someone who got 2 markers gets 2BB from each player who did not win a marker.
