Recommend shifting the spots on the edge so they aren’t split (2-5).
^^ this. Spittiing a spot in half risks misalignment looking much, much worse than if splitting the artwork at a color change.

I truly appreciate the help on this as I’m sure there are others that may be trying to work out the same thing :)

You can officially put me down for 750.

I have an idea for the theme I want to go with, just don't know if it would be difficult to design. (Newbie here) I want to make a Marvel themed set. Black Panther= $100, Hulk= $25, Deadpool, Spiderman or Iron Man(can't decide)= $5, Wolverine=$2, Storm or Venom= $1, and Captain America = 25 cent.

I have the time to learn and maybe do it myself if it's not crazy hard to learn, or if the price is reasonable (don't know the going rate for design work), for someone more experienced and more creative to design it as I think these could look amazing.

Also don't know if it would be illegal to use the Marvel characters? I would definitely never plan on re-selling this set. All opinions and info welcome!

My advice - you can do a lot yourself with some tools that are out there. But then - hire a designer to finish the job. Unless you just want to spend hundreds of hours learning how to effectively use AI. The designers that I have worked with here on PCF are EXTREMELY good. They know what they are doing and they will knock it out in 1 tenth, or maybe 1 one hundredth of the time you would spend learning and doing it yourself.

I designed my edge spots with the CPC tool. Very easy to work with. And I did my inlay with the Avery Labels online tool. Again, easy to work with to import jpeg images and to align text including circular text. Then once I had it pretty close to what I wanted, I passed it off to @timinater to clean it up, make suggestions for improvements, and create the AI files I needed to send to Sean.

Edit: Forgot to mention. Regarding copyrights - the printers in China don't give a rip what you put on your chip. My feeling is they are for your personal enjoyment, not for resale or commercial use. Put whatever you want on your chips.

That sentiment could have gotten you banned on CT, and likely chastised here on PCF.... just sayin'.

I advise that intellectual property rights be acknowledged and respected. Ask permission before using a design that doesn't belong to you.

Glad this isn't CT. I wouldn't want to be a member of a forum that didn't allow members to express unpopular or controversial opinions. My opinion is that no one at Marvel is harmed if I take a photo off the internet and put it on a poker chip for my own personal use. Anyone who feels differently is welcome to disagree. Anyone who feels uncomfortable doing that shouldn't do it.

Just got my Motel Mares artwork (Mapes tribute) from Catalyst. 880 chips for me, including some sample sets, along with Cash set.

I’d be in for 750 ish. Since I’m new it would help if someone looked at my chip design to make sure it would work. I used the Aces template and Inkscape. From what I saw it’s best to submit in AI. Need help to convert it too.

I decided to make Rocket Raccoon my frac and add a $10 denom for Captain America. I know a lot of denoms but the more the merrier in eyes. Also of note, the inlay pics are just place holders. Haven't decided if I should do a solid background or an environmental background. Those who have sets already could maybe guide me in this regard. How detailed can the print come out on the chips?

Other than that, let me know what you think? Colors are also place holder. Just used what was available on the design tool. Would let designer use their best judgment on color matching. Getting very excited about the these!

These are very cool. Please order enough for some sample sets and put me down for one please!

I'm surprised nobody has done any cards mold seating chips yet. I guess it's difficult because you would have to get 25 people to agree on the same chip design.

Hmmmmm... that has me thinking. For a big group buy like NCC or Aria it wouldn't be hard to put one together that everyone could agree upon. We just need numbers 1 through 10, right?

How's this sound? Start with the 5K chip. There are no blue chips in the Aria's lineup, so change the base color to the blue, then use red and white edge spots. Change "Tournament" to "Seating Token." Maybe reduce the size of the "Aria's" text so there is more room for a big as possible seat number. Could even put "No cash value" in and arc around the bottom to clear up some more room. Then make 10 of them, one with each number.

Even if you're not using the Aria's chips, it would still be a cool thing to have. Could even leave off the Aria's text completely.

Edit: Correction, there is a blue chip in the cash lineup. But it's a different shade with different edge spot colors and orientation.

Also, maybe we should wait until the 43mm cards mold chip is available to add this to the lineup. I think it would be better as a bigger chip than the regular lineup.
