Interest Cards Mold Hybrid (8 Viewers)

Glad to see this is not dead. I applaud folks breaking the mold!

What happened to the 5 geckos, per the Codified Colquhoun Philosophy of Design (CCPD) ™ ? I like the geometric one! Reminds me of a Polynesian pattern. What is the inspiration? Horseshoe is a practical choice for attracting orders.

4 Geckos fits with the 4 main people in my game so it can be a personal mold.

No idea ask @timinater about the geometric mold. HE IS A KILLER ON THIS STUFF. I can't say enough good things about how helpful he has been with the art.

Would love to see a hybrid with a larger recess. Maybe something big like over 1”?
Only drawback may be less surface area from chip face to chip face, making them more slippery? Not sure.
Spoken like a designer who wants a bigger canvas.

I also like the idea of a bigger recess. Take a look at the Tropicana Evansville tourney chips. I don't think those chips suffer for having a bigger inlay. They were able to put really big, clear denoms on those with plenty of white space for high readability. Obviously, you could get more art on there as well. Of course, those are not ceramic.

What is the recess area of the no mold hybrid?
Both the No mold hybrid and scrown-style hybrid are 1” (approx 25mm)

There are just some tribute chips I wouldn’t mind doing that have a larger inlay, and they don’t look quite right when reduced.

However, the difference between the THC and the thinner area of RHC can make them slippery.
I have some Paulson giant inlay chips with very little clay on the surface…it’s like trying to shuffle wet ice cubes.

I claim full credit for 5 geckos idea! :P

Reason: 5 is a Fibonacci number, and Fibonacci numbers often appear in nature.

I also really like the geometric mold. The color consistency is way better in the recesses with the thin mold lines.

Based on comparison of Sun-Fly's four ceramic hybrid molds, the difference in the available chip-to-chip surface area makes a huge difference in how resistant chips are to 'sliding'. Larger surface areas (smaller recessed label areas) have more grip.

Go make it yourself. I am surprised PCF hasn't had a few more mold made.
Someone get on a Hybrid ARODIE mold. I don't even like it but I'll make one HardWell set with it.
At some point I'm making a Gecko mold, maybe 2024.
I made a vector a while back...
