Casino Royale tribute idea that I've been kicking around.... (4 Viewers)

Hmmm...something about the Yellow doesn't seem right. I think I'll switch to a White (maybe Off-White, or Cream) base colour, that way the plaques will be base red, blue, and white to roughly match the French flag colours.

Agree 100% on the yellow. Otherwise, it's a great plaque!

Boy, am I glad I got a couple of colour sample sets in hand.

It turns out that the Green base that I wanted for the T5K is too dark, and I will instead use a Light Green instead. Which probably means I'll be changing my 3D14 spots on that one to Dayglo Yellow and Green. Most of the others look fine, though, so the T25K and T100K mockup will stand. I'll repost when I have the chance.

Cleaned up the plaque art a bit. I'm submitting this as a "rough" to MSK to get some rough idea of costs.

These are really nice. That 5M is insane!

Clearly the same set, but the filigree goes up a reasonable amount each step.

I'll admit, I'm legitimately very jealous. Can't wait to see what your MSK mock ups look like.

Did you end up going LCrown mold with CPC or some other mold? Curious what your cost per chip ended up being.

Yes, LCrown. Slightly over $3 a chip after factoring in shipping and PP surcharge. Kept things simple with level 3/4 spots.
Yeah, really like the colors and the spots for the two larger denoms, 100k is really elegant and simple with great colors, the 25k is bold without being garish. The 25k as an L4 boggles my mind. If you told me that chip was an L6 or L8 I'd believe you.

I actually had to pull out my color sample to look at light green/green/dayglo yellow. I'm normally not a fan of dayglo yellow but next to all of that green maybe it'll mute that 'green' that I see in the shade down a bunch. Light green in my sample, and maybe it's because it's amold seems a bit washed out. Earlier revisions you'd done green instead of light green, what prompted the change?

Really nice set, very jealous.

I recently received two colour samples and the base Green turned out to be a bit darker than what I was expecting, so I switched to Light Green (which also enhances the contrast with the Pink chip which is also a bit darker than I thought). I wanted to stick to all weighted base colours.

Was considering Dayglo Saturn for the spot, but wanted to get away from the greenishness so went with Dayglo since it is lightest/brightest.

not sure how I missed this post @Phantom your amazing chips are why I am on PCF!!

I was internet searching for the 08 series Casino Royale Slugged chips, these and 05 CDIs kept popping up.... I was mesmerized. The most amazing thing I had ever seen!! being a huge Bond fan as well. I was then bumbed out to find out these were customs and that owning a set was never going to happen!!

I have managed to find a sample set, one of the 2 million plaques and the beautiful dealer button!

Just wanted to say fantastic job sir!! I have herd there may be a set of them still in the states, hope some day to get a chance to play them!!

Fellow Chipper Ben
Let me know if you ever wanna pass those samples on!

I don't plan on it ever leaving... even if I was lucky enough to make a tribute of a tribute set, the originals are truly amazing and definitely one of the harder samples to find but they are out there. I will keep my eyes peeled. I had 2 of them at one point but traded one off for another sample set.

I hope @allforcharity is planning lots of samples of this master piece as well?

So is the creator of this set open to letting others order a matching set??

Actual plaques, serialized! The few that eventually will be available for samples (T500K and T1MM only) do not have the serialization.
MSK offers limited UV ink printing for even more security! I decided against this feature for this plaque set, but might consider it for the future, just because of the FREAKIN' WOW factor.

The somewhat poor lighting condition and my old crappy camera make the red portions of these plaques look quite orange, but rest assured they are a nice deep red colour. The metallic printing (silver, gold, copper) turned out fantastically! I also bought 4 plaque cases from them at a very affordable $5 a pop, and they each hold 50 plaques. The tournament set itself requires only 3 cases for 140 plaques, so the last case I can use for my dealer button and cut card collection.

Can't wait for the CPC part to be produced so I can post a mini-family shot and then commence with sample distribution!

I missed when you posted these, they look great!

Are they just samples or did you get the entire shipment?

Any idea where you are in the CPC queue, I know it's LONG!

Makes me think more and more about my own super deep stack set.

I've got the entire plaque shipment already. I experimented and found out that all my plaques fit very well in an old Paulson wooden 400-chip case.

AFAIK, Lcrown will mount after Scrown is done, and I don't think there's very many LCrown orders.

I've handled these plaques in person and they are amazing when @allforcharity brought them to the game. Can't wait to see the whole set stacked up!

Sigh.

I had hoped to present these chips to PCF and my local players and start with offering sample sets for charity, but it's going to be delayed for an indeterminant period of time.

It looks like the package that was mailed to Canada has somehow disappeared after landing in the country. Canada Post has disavowed all knowledge of it. Canada Customs has stated the package had never been in their possession. USPS won't start an investigation for a lost international package until at least several MONTHS have past. I am totally bummed out.

Before anybody decides to post helpful suggestions, David Spragg is aware of the situation, but there is literally nothing we can do at the moment except wait. He assures me that every package has shown up eventually, and at the last resort it is fully ensured.

Sigh.

Good luck Berny! I hope it is just a temp situation and that your chips arrive soon.

That's horrible! I hope it turns up soon, what a bummer!
