This seems pretty basic to me, but if you are having the Goobers and Bubbas over for a poker night, do you keep a set of cheap chips for play, and keep your good stuff back?

Get rid of your cheap stuff…it’s taking up space that could be used for more good stuff.

I felt all my chips. I also don't invite people who I think might break my stuff...

Not the players but I do have a cheap set for outdoor games.
When I break out a new set though, I do wait for the people who would appreciate them.

Yes, admittedly I do have cheap sets for the non-connoisseurs. Albeit I do not own some of the higher end like Tigers, etc. I do bring out my Paulson Pharaoh's and my custom CPC set for my league as I trust everyone there whole heartedly. I do have the step above Costco chips for when I go on my golf vacation with the drunkards.
I only know goobers and bubbas…no choice but to play with good chips.
Our group (very diverse) usually plays a tourney w/ 20-30 players but as people bust out, a cash game ensues with a limited number of sober participants. This is where the mayhem ensues. I have hosted several times a year for the past 20 years. I cringe at the thought of unappreciative folks who are often friends of friends sullying (pizza grease, wing sauce, smoke, whatever... ) my best chips. Just me, but that's why I started the thread.

But you do you - I'd rather play with cheap chips than with a host who's stressed and worried about people damaging his chips. I hope that doesn't come off as sounding negative. I'm not implying anything or judging at all.

Paulsons and CPC's are designed for players in Casinos. Short of intentional damage your house guests shouldn't be able to do much. At worse you can toss your chips in a sink or ultrasonic after for a rinse of even the worst beer & wing residue.
Maybe you have the wrong folks then...... I openly ask my players to sully my chips. Sully them so hard.....

My thinking is why would you use your {insert dream car here} as an Uber?
I'm not sure playing poker and driving Uber work so great as a comparison here. But if you were driving Uber for the love of the game, so to speak, then why wouldn't you use your dream car?
