China Cards Mold - CHINA CLUB group buy - 26,025 chips - NO NEW ORDERS (2 Viewers)

What’s a good break down for a $20 cash game single table? Thinking either .5/.10 or .10/.25 game
I’d recommend either doing 5¢/10¢ , 10¢/20¢ or 25¢/25¢

Trying to do 10¢/25¢ introduces two denoms that really don’t work well together as there are no ways to make change for a bet of say, 35¢ or 45¢

I’d suggest maybe 10¢/20¢. If you plan for a worst case scenario of 10 people and 4 buyins each, that gets you to a bank of $800.

200 x 10¢
200 x 50¢
200 x $1
100 x $5

Would probably be the minimum I’d suggest. Adjust up or down for however many people you think would realistically play and how many buyins would be needed.

For the 5/10c game, 200 nickels, 300 quarters, 300 dollars gives a bank around $400.
For the 10/20c game, 200 dimes, 200 half dollars, 300 dollars, and 100 fives gives a bank around $900.

I'd go with 600 chips: 5c x 100 / 25c x 200 / $1 x 200 / $5 x 100.
If your paulson set already covers a .25/.50 game, I think nickels and quarters is a better mix for the micro cash set.
You can play .05/.10 to .25/.25 with this; also .10/.20 and .10/25 with nickels works.
Since I cannot have this set without a $25 chip, You could also go with 625 chips and add a barrel of those. Not needed really, but nice.

EDIT: I was trying to keep the size down, but if you are one of those that likes everyone to have a full barrel of nickels, go ahead and get the extra hundred. This set is definitely the price to get more chips as long as you can store them. However, for starting stacks, consensus shows that just 100 works fine for mostly blind chips. (Twenty fixed to say $25).

I went with this breakdown, basically, but added another rack of $5s (because they are the reason I'm buying a set of these at all...and because they're $30 bucks, haha). And in the photos of the actual chips, I like the $0.50 WAY more than the $0.25. That, and I'm not betting 5 cents. Pony up for a dime, sister! :)

And that’s why I claimed your set when you’re done, lol

It’s clear you Waffles take them with a slice of wheat toast, no butter and decaf coffee please. Us nickel guys have our Pancakes with black coffee, biscuits and gravy and a side of grits, thank you. Keep your dimes sister. :)

I will admit though, the original NCC $1/$5 chips are a dream team together.

Topic Hijack Question: Are the rolling edges of these glossy like Sun-Fly's or flat like ChipCo/ABC?

I'd be in for a sample set if available.
I wouldn’t even call chipco/abc rolling edges flat. They are still a gloss.

These however, are matte. Just like the face. It’s a massive reason why I prefer them over any other ceramic out there. Not only do they look better, but they provide a better tactile stimulation (to me at least).

Not sure how often this game will run so put me down for

OK, you can be the last NEW order. Kitchen is now closed (unless you ask politely and I will fit you in). I don't really want to re-ship 10k of these. Stupid group buy went to 20k!

In all seriousness though, I'm glad it has been as successful as it has been so far.

Everybody send me a private message please and I will send you my paypal $$. I will also take venmo and Amazon gift certificates. Not sure I want $2000 in Amazon gift certificates if everybody chooses that, but I will cross that bridge when I get to it.

I will go update the second post with numbers, and re-verify those numbers with you in private message when you pay.

125 chips x 5 cent
125 chips x 10 cent
150 chips x 25 cent
150 chips x 50 cent
150 chips x 1 dollar
50 chips x 5 dollar
25 chips x 25 dollar
25 chips x 100 dollar

800 book it! 2 sample sets. 840 total?

How many players will you have? for a full table, that's probably not enough nickels for .10/.20 and probably not enough quarters or dollars either. These are so cheap, better to have too many than too few. I play mostly .05/.10 cash games with $20 buy in. Often play with 8-10 players.

Here's the table I used to come up with my numbers. We do end up making change a lot with only 10 nickels per player, so I upped mine to 125 so we can use 20 when there are 6 or less.

If I were playing .10 / .20, Id probably do something like this. More nickels, and up the buy-in to $30. I did reduce the number of re-buys a bit to make the numbers fit better.

I honestly think with only 300 chips that, unless you only have 5-6 players, you're going to end up with a set that's nearly unplayable.

Dammit!!! The more I look at that, the more I like the 15 / 13 split better than my 10 / 14 split for nickels / quarters. Now I'm gonna have to think about getting another roll of nickels!!! Thanks a lot @Outkicked Grrrr...

I have two full tournament sets and a cash set for .25/.50 game up to a 1/2 game, I doubt these chips will even make it in play because my cheap ass friends who I’m trying to get more involved in poker don’t know anything about poker and losing $10 means two hours of verbal spousal abuse from their wives about how much of an idiot they are for wasting money...just doing my part to try and convert another degenerate poker player like myself

I'm guessing you haven't had any of these in hand yet, right? You may be surprised how much you like them and may even want to put them in your rotation with the big boys. They're really cool chips. But you'll get plenty of chances to add-on after you get this first order. I suspect there will be at least a dozen more of these mini group buys in the next year.

Wow really? I didn't realize these little group buys happened this often. Cool!

Yeah, the fist buy that @SeanGecko organized got way out of hand, with over 70K chips ordered. Even after he cut it off there was a lot more interest and folks disappointed that they missed out. So we kinda decided (encouraged by Sean) that it would be a better idea to limit future buys to 10-20K chips, and spread the work load by having more organizers involved. 10K chips hits lowest price per chip tier and minimizes shipping cost per chip. Over 20K starts getting harder to manage. I believe there are three (including this one) of these currently being organized, and I'm just guessing, but I suspect there will be new ones popping up every few weeks as new people get wind of these chips, and as more people get them in hand and realize how cool they are considering the low cost.

They will with these chips. Custom artwork ceramics @ 35 cents a chip delivered to your door in a group buy, though it takes forever, the quality is decent enough to be worth it.
