China Clay Chips Comparison (1 Viewer)

I am definitely getting a Paulson set sometime in the future.
I just need to get married, have some kids, get them through college and then with my retirement money buy the Coke Giraffes and take them with me in heaven!
Better buy them now. By then they will be $100 a chip!

By the time you get all of that done, Coke Giraffes will be $10k/chip.

Seriously, try a @TheChipRoom set. I'll bet there is another sale in the next few months. Or ask Jim what he has available right now! They are usually RHC, but still great chipes.

Yeah, this thread was amazing. Thanks Poseidon for starting it. This should be recommended to every new member looking into buying their first set. Besides being very informative, it is an emotional rollercoaster. Thanks!

Allow me to disagree with the idea of bying Paulsons as an "investment"
Who buys poker chips as an investment? (maybe 100 people from this forum? ) Or let me put it in another way : who buys a car as an investmet? Some will reply " a Ferrari" ....And my answer to that would be , yea ok, but you have to keep it in a garage , low mileage meaning you will never truly enjoy the car....
Lets get back to reality cars : You dont buy a wolkswagen as an investment.. You buy the car (any brand) you can afford and you want to enjoy driving it...
Same to me goes with poker chips.. You buy the set you like + can afford and you play it until either the chips start "melting" in your hands ( :) ) or until the day you get bored of it. Then you either keep it in a closet until you miss it, or try and sell it for as much as you can get or you give it away....

Poker chips to me are a means of enjoying poker, not an investment! Paulsons are definately much better than china clays or ceramics but i find it stupid to pay a fortune just because Paulsons stopped selling to the public and prices have sky rocketed...
