A confession thread? Maybe.
Post shots of customs you were so sure would be awesome but for some reason were not.
Mfg defects, art gone wrong, incorrect orders, bad relabels, + your own total f-ups. Don't be bashsfull --it happens.
Refrain from bashing yourself or the mfg's -- just show it and tell us why your custom chips went to chip-hell.
I have a few, pics later (but I am currently trying to unlock an old hard drive loaded with pics and buying a new cam to make new pics).

I forgot to expand an effect and when printed with a coin flip the reverse didn't quite match the obverse :banghead: Completely my screw up.

Probably my original $5s (top of picture)

There wasn't sufficient contrast between light brown and brown. So I ordered a couple of secondary racks.

please show the faces of these ; i am confused by what might be the lighting on those (are they white and bone w the same spots? or bad pics?)
dual-close spot colors that are close are not bad IMO (even if they clash with the base color).
--i have been hung there a few times and came around.
It is not the about 'pop' and contrast all the time.
simple plain home game chips are my IMO the best...
but 20k? ;)

It was just funny lighting in the first photo.

Original giraffe chip was brown and light brown.

New lion chip is butterscotch and maroon.

Oh I didn't realize they were yours, was my guess correct?
yes mine... and explained in the past @ CT.
but I cannot find it now :(
this was based on some medieval image that did not translate into the chip spots well.
& the mockups are lost.
i thought I would find this instantly, but not on the internet now (so polluted with crap)
thoughts: isle of man -/ 4 fisted English (pre nazi) swastika symbol -- i just don't member.
it was supposed to be so simple and olde time english rural; i even tried '4 fisted cross' with no results.
shit :banghead:

ok
V1 & v2 here
I was unhappy with the v1 since yellow and butterscoch were way too close (unlike in the mockups).
So i made the v2 and mixed them together and all is now good. But really, the V1 grew on me and now they are me.
Aside from that, a fellow CT'er I met at ASM's Jim Blanchard's retirment dinner told me he liked the subtly of the spot contast and that helped let me go.
Sometimes, you stare too much at your chip (when nobody else does).

funny these bad pics show more of what was in my head at the time --but in good light they are not that bad :)

VERY minor..... but after I had this set made someone asked (more out of curiosity than criticism) why I didn’t use bright white instead of regular white for the edge spot. It honestly NEVER crossed my mind while designing. At all. There’s an upcharge if it’s the base color but not the edge spot. I still absolutely love this chip, but if I could do over I think it’s the only change I would make to the whole set.

I've had quite a few over the years. Here are a couple.

I went with only one NCV for my first custom set. I should have gone all NCV.

I originally wanted bright pink with white and black spots for my second set but they talked me into grey because the pink and white were so dark at the time.
It was so dark that it caused pot confusion with my $5s. Many years later they finally offer bright pink and white. I save my money and make my order. They goofed with the white and used off-white again even though I paid the up-charge. They did apologize...

Washed some chips that had paper labels unbeknownst to me.

Tourney set that I was excited to get the new color at the time for my T5k. Looks gorgeous under sunlight. Looks exactly like my black T100 on the table :(

IMO bright white is not needed there at all (love your babies as is).
BTW ASM BW came out just after I made the same .25 set mentioned above. I may have changed my $1.00 chips but am now glad I was not tempted.
I made the following tourney set with BW and made 2 versions (of the $100) and was not happy with either (to go in my regrets thread soon) .
Not to bash BW, but if not needed here or there that is fine.
