I was going to do some OCD stuff and weigh the various samples that I've collected over the last couple weeks since I've joined and I couldn't find my old postal scale. There seem to be a lot of choice on Amazon; just wondering if there is a favorite on this forum?

Next, a black light to see the secret inscriptions that I read casinos have used for security. Fun stuff :)

We have something called a brifit mini scale or pocket scale, 15.99 on Amazon
They work great and the batteries are replaceable

The scale you want depends on whether you want to measure xx, xx.x, or xx.xx grams. Even centigram scales are cheap. My 500g x 0.01 scale has had excellent performance and was $14 on amazon. I originally got it to measure espresso beans, but it's served well for measuring poker chip mass as well.

Standard PCF issue… lol

Funny thing. I bought a cheap Amazon scale that went to .01g for weighing chips, and it was great. Turned out it only weighed up to 200g, but that wasn’t a big deal - if occasionally I was mailing chips heavier than that, I could just split them and weigh two stacks.
Then I started using it in the kitchen to weigh espresso beans.
After a while the scale crapped out - not sure if it just got old or got clogged with coffee dust or what. But I ordered the same one to replace it. Or so I thought. The new one only weighs to 100g. Not a huge deal, but it’s a pain in the ass often enough that I’d warn people against it. I think I paid $10, so no real complaints.

Tl; dr - make sure you get one that will weigh at least 200 grams, preferably 500g down to .01g, even if you have to pay an extra $5.
