UPDATE 6/27

Whellp, I have a bit of bad/frustrating news... Warneke is not giving us the 15,000 unit price break, even though I told them we hit 14,000, and would commit to the 10% overrun on our final order. Here is my initial email to them from Monday morning:

Here is the response that I got...

I never mentioned 14,500... not even once. I'm frustrated that the goal posts are moving to keep the unit price a little higher (even if it's just a penny). Apparently, that 10% overrun is a little more flexible when it's up against a cost adjustment.

While I'm upset at this development, I don't think it's a deal breaker, I'll just bump any money overpaid to reshipping costs. However, I feel like this screwed two GB members pretty hard, namely @liftapint and @Leonard, both of whom doubled their orders specifically to keep us at 15,000. And now come to find out we didn't even need to hit 15,000? I'm not sure how to remedy this right now, but I wanted to put it out there in the interest of full transparency, since it seems like those two are getting shafted pretty hard.

FWIW, here is the history of the pricing:

And now we have a new tier of 14,500 @ $0.467.

Thanks for the transparency. Let me know if I owe more money...happy to pay. I'm starting to wonder how much of this is Warnecke and how much is a salesman trying to eek out a little more commission

Well, in fairness, the total cost per person is actually LESS with the new pricing, since we're only now committed to 14,500 units, and not 15,400 units.

Unit cost goes up, but the total goes down. He actually would have made a few bucks more if he locked us in to 15,400 at the lower price. See below...

15400*0.456 = $7022.4
14500*0.467 = $6771.5

* quick calc - prices do not include tax

Now that I look at the numbers, it seems like Warneke is actually helping us with the new price break/tier. So, I guess I should not be complaining... I'm just bummed that Mel and Leonard locked into orders that were intended to get us to an order quantity that we really didn't need to reach. Although I guess it worked out in the end, as they gave us another price break for a lower quantity.

I guess I should just shut up. :)

Any chance these are sloppy typos? 15400 and 14500 are pretty similar.

Could you ask the guy for clarification? Or is that poking the bear.

Given that it falls in line with the pricing, I think it is intentional, and he's actually helping us out with this new price break/tier.

See the progression, below:

12,500 @ 0.479 ea
14,500 @ 0.467
15,000 @ 0.456

I'm thinking it might be best to leave it alone... Don't want to inquire too much and get locked back in to 15,400.

Looking at the new tier, it would seem that the same pricing would be available for your stated 14,000 box order. Dunno where he got that extra 500 boxes. Drop a penny for a 2000 jump and then another penny for 500 more doesn't make much sense.

I'd just place the order for 14,000 boxes @ 0.467 each, with a $3400 deposit.... which is more than 50% even for 14,500 boxes.

Yup -that's essentially what we're doing.

The 14,500 is him providing a 500 unit allotment for their "overrun." It's normally 10% (which is where the 15,400 originally came from), but it looks like he's saying they can now do this order for us with less overrun. So, we've ordered 14k, and he's committing us to an overrun of 500 units, although it may be less.

PP sent - And just like many others - I can do an add on to get us to the next level is necessary.

Thanks for making this happen.

Well, if we're not getting the price break for 15k, can we just reduce our orders back to our original amounts, and get a refund? I don't really want to double my order, if it isn't getting us to the 15k price break. Seems like a simple solution....restore our original orders, and refund the difference?

This. OK with the double order, but just as happy with the original if it doesn't really help with pricing

Please be sure to read my last few posts above... The current offer from Warneke is actually helping us.

We are right at 14,000 right now, with no wiggle room, and I'm even covering a 90 box round-up order to get us there. If we drop below 14k, everyone's order cost will go UP since we will lose the current 14k unit price break. If that happens, I'll need to do another round of fund collections.
