Wow, that's amazing Andrew! I'm glad I ordered 100 now for sure. ;)
Great job

UPDATE - JUNE 16, 2017

I need to get my folks to the airport, but here is a quick update:

Video comparo of Paulson box and Warneke box:

The Warneke box fits the chips much more snug than the Paulson box. I think this is because of the 1/16" wider chip divider/insert, in addition to possible thicker stock being used for the divider/insert (this is a guess and unverified). See the video below...

* I apologize for the vertical video - for some dumb reason my iPhone couldn't tell I was holding the phone sideways. YouTube is currently processing the 90-degree rotation.

I also got clarification on the +/- 10% production deal... Greg explained it to me in more "standard" terms, and it made more sense.

Basically, they have a 10% overrun allowance on any and all orders. For example, if you are Gillette, and you call for an order of 50,000 packages, your initial quote will be for 55,000 units to ensure you get the quantity you need/want. Warneke cannot predict their cutting waste with exact precision, so they quote an overrun to guarantee the minimum quantity delivered to the client - you are then invoiced for the exact amount delivered. So on that order of 50,000 that is quoted at 55,000, your final invoice will probably only be for 50,950 units, or 51,600 units, or whatever.

He told me he basically explained it in reverse for us, because he knew we were a fragmented group, and did not want us to have pay for product we did not want/order, to try and save us money. He didn't realize it would cause the confusion that it did.

So - if we want exactly 11,600 units, we need to commit to a 10% overrun, although we probably won't hit that. I hope that makes sense.
Fuck yeah! I love a tight box. :ROFLMAO::ROFL: :ROFLMAO::ROFL: :ROFLMAO:

Is it too late to increase my order from 100 to 200?

Not at all... once people saw the posted video I figured there'd be some folks who wanted to up their quantities. This is a pretty slick product, and I'm not sure we're going to see this pricing again anytime soon (getting a commitment of 10k on a reorder will be pretty difficult). That said, I'm upping my order as well.

NOTICE: Group Buy is REOPENED for ORDERS for 7 MORE DAYS! GB will close again at noon Mountain Daylight Time on Friday 6/23!!

PS: @Matijan did you want me to add your 20 to the order?

Thank you! (y)
It looks like the CPS chips pushed out the ends of the box a bit. One might want to forgo the insert and put a single piece of cardboard between the barrels for a better fit.

Are you able to change / modify your thread title from "Closed" to "Re-Opened" ?

I will stay at 200 but offer to increase up to 400 to cover any overage. Does that work?

L

That works!

I am thinking everyone is going to have to agree to a 10% overage so we all get the orders we want. I'll then give refunds for what is not produced... And then we'll figure out what to do with the extras.

People can opt to take them, or maybe we can just sell them at cost in the vendor forums? I'm thinking it's not going to be more than a 3-5% overage in reality (but don't hold me to that), which shouldn't be a huge hit, even on the bigger orders.

Can we get clarification on this? I'm getting these largely for CPC chips (assuming CPS was a reference to CPC).

That is as fu**ed up a business model as the now prevalent automotive repair shop practice of an add-on for "materials" and similar garbage. If it's part of the uncertainty of your production process, you should take that into account in your basic pricing -- it's called overhead.

That said, in this case it's immaterial to me -- I'll happily take extra boxes up to 50% above my initial order.

Thanks again for all your efforts!
