I suppose it's safe to say that this is not happening.

I think David O just got a little overwhelmed with all the different opinions/directions/designs people were offering.

If some one else wants to take over the reins and make it happen, set up the "next step" poll for options, or just make an executive decision and pick one... I'm sure there would be enough interest for this to move forward.

I am interested; I just don't have the time to manage another GB right now.

I really want this to happen as well and my wallet is more open to the idea of buying these than a fat kid in a candy store.

I just want someone to say "this is the design" and let's roll with it.

Grand Cardroom and the Aviator design were sick and sexy and I'm ready to pony up.

Let's do this!

Yes. I am used to showing something and working within the parameters. It was established that we could use the existing design by David Spragg and change the name. That was the direction we started this thread on. Then all of the changes of going with different designs derailed the thread in my opinion. Since many had interest I did not want to stop the progress in something different but felt the original thread was pretty much a no go. When I saw the direction change I felt it would be better that someone else take over.
I do not mind leading a group buy but there needs to be a commitment from everyone involved and an agreed upon design. This brings me back to the original design. Who would be in with the original design offered by David Spragg and change the name?

So block letters: "The Forum" in a top arc, a smaller "No Cash Value" in a bottom arc, and the Denom in the center?

I thought The Forum mockup was nice. Would be nice to see a mock of Royal Cardroom if we had permission to use that name. Is it possible to just vote on those two and maybe one more then lock it down? You'd obviously need commitment and payment to hit the 8k chips which I believe David said would get it around 1.10 a chip or something around there. That's 16 people ordering 500 chipset which seems attainable.

Sometimes executive decisions are all that's needed to get the railbirds in line. As OP, and the inspiration behind this GB, you have a lot of leeway when it comes to cracking the whip.

If you want to pick one design and move forward, or set up a poll of the top 3 to add another layer of democracy, I'm sure the community will follow along either way.

If the orders don't meet the minimum at that point, then you can close it down without any regrets.

Perfect example is me and @AllinBallin going to lunch today. Could not pick a place to eat because we had too many options. I say 2 or 3 of the top names originally polled, get their mockups, and decide from there. Hopefully most ppl involved in the voting will be in no matter what we end on. Let's get this puppy moving again!

Same. Limit it to 2 or 3 and let's vote.

Finally got home to get back online. With almost 5 hours of windshield time I was able to think about this a bit in between business calls. So Here it goes....

It appears that there is still some interest to go forward with this GB. If that is the case and we can get enough to make it worthwhile for all involved then I say we go forward. Some say this is my group buy and that is not how I intended at the very first. I was offering to lead a group buy and do all of the ordering, and delivery of the chip sets for the members of the community. To accomplish this it is necessary to come up with a name, and everyone that is committed to follow through on ordering and paying for your share. We also need to make sure @David Spragg is still onboard with his original offer. We will need to order at least 8000 chips!

I will offer 5 names for the hot stamp chips, 4 of which will be the top four from the previous poll (Excluding Royal since it is already a set) and one that I would like to add to the mix, call it a perk for running the group buy. We will keep that up for a period of 1 - 2 weeks for the poll. There will be no design going in to this it is for name only. Once we come up with a name we will then come together with colors and will only ise either the A-mold or Jockey mold. I will ask that you only participate in the poll if you intend to order at least 300-500 chips. Once all of this is done we I will ask everyone for payment and place the order with CPC.

I apologize for not taking more of a leadership roll in this (not like me to do that) but I wanted this to be something for the community and not for just me.I do think that going forward I will have no problem making the decision on "jump balls" and get this GB to completion.

Tagging members that expressed an interest. (Hope I did not leave someone out)

A few already with interest. I will get a poll ready either tonight or tomorrow at which time I will cancel this thread.

I think I will reveal the name I was looking at adding. River City Club?

There are over 40 cities across the US that have that as a nickname. Also can refer to the river card. Just a thought

Between putting together 2 different paulson mixed sets, a set of hot stamped t-molds, a small CPC order and a larger CPC add-on within the past 5 months, I think I'm going to be on the sidelines for this one. I will continue following with interest and if the final design is really kick ass I may pick up a small set, but I'll abstain from voting. I think you've got the right idea though David, this won't go anywhere without someone really taking charge and pushing it.

I think that the interest is definitely there at large, but I'm going to have to bow out for now. I recently paid for my own custom hot stamp set, and need to conserve whatever other financial bandwidth I have available for some other opportunities.

Best of luck w/the buy, folks! I'll be watching with interest :)

If we don't have to pony up till September I should be good for 600 chip set......prob still good but a little time to recover funds after several big purchases wouldn't hurt

Forum reminds me of a NJ diner ! But Aviator Club, Atlantic Club, River City might have possibilities.

FWIW, we might have enough demand here. But bracketing the 60 or so suggested names might increase member participation.

Im probably out. This sparked my interest to do a Caribbean theme hotstamp solid with more then likely the same colors:whistle: :whistling:
But tring to get price for dies before i decide on Customs.

Caribbean theme anyone?;) Lol

Good luck wth this GB its gonna be awesome.
