Per an email exchange I've had with Ott, he said these are from a customer that never paid for the order. [ ... ] I also asked for pics but he said he [...] only had pictures of chips in their original boxes. wtf?
On May 23, 2013, I issued a check to Atlantic Standard Molding to pay for 10,030 chips. The price was negotiated for the order around May 11 with Mike Dambauch. The chips were produced later that year over several months, and would not have been produced had they not been paid for up front.
That transaction was recorded in the financial records of my business, Continental Card & Game Co. The check was cashed in June, 2013 by ASM. Obviously, all of this has been reported to the IRS, and proper documentation is on file, as the amount exceeded $12,000, and transactions over $10,000 trigger some red flags to the tax man.
I requested the quote from Sallie at ASM in early May. Based on her characteristic, cheerful response, I believe she was the person who responded. (When we spoke or e-mailed, we often would compare weather reports.) I spoke on the phone with Michael about the order one evening a few days later.
The following night, Michael called me to tell me he was leaving the business. He explained why. It was a long phone call. It was also the first time I had heard the name "Red."
I know I paid for all my chips. If "Red" is referring to another customer for which he produced Key West chips, he did so without my approval or knowledge.
If he is referring to me as the "customer that [sic] never paid for the order," he is lying. Any member who wishes to see the proof of payment to ASM may PM me.
He would also be exaggerating the cost to produce the chips. I know exactly how much it cost ASM to produce an H-mold, level 1 chip in 2013, as this was part of our negotiations.
