I bought 4 black TV trays drilled 2 holes for each so that the jumbo cup holders could fit. Works like a charm. Eventually I'd like to have some nice custom wheeled drink carts but that's on a future list...[emoji41]

Thanks NiceShot. Have not used one of those in a really long time. So TV Trays or Side Tables still
No problem. Pictures of the table when you are done.
You know, there's a different option that I've never seen done... on a poker table.
I remember seeing a company doing cool wooden gaming furniture, albeit meant for table gaming, not poker, called GeekChic. Their tables have a rail system which is a groove around the outside into which an EXTERNAL cup holder can be hung. It's kinda like a slide-under, but it goes on the outside. I suppose it's possible to come up with a way to do that, if custom building...
Here's what they offer:

I recall there being a spring-loaded mechanism that locks it into the rail; you press a button underneath to release it and pull it out, and you can slide it to any convenient spot along the groove you see.
Tehy get pretty crazy, though:

Well done, table looks great!I struggled with this on my recent table build as well. I polled all my players and they wanted drink holders in the rail. After I put them in I was glad I did. It seems to me that the slide under would still be easy to knock over but I have never used them so I can't say for sure. Side tables sound nice but the space they take up would be an issue. This was my first build.

Early in this thread there was so much contempt for cups in the rail that I briefly started to rethink my design... but then things evened up again. I'm designing my second table - my first was a racetrack table with cups in the track. Cups in the track is probably more annoying than in the rail but I still haven't found it to be too much of an issue. For some reason if the racetrack wasn't there and I had cups in the felt in the same spots I'd think it was ridiculous... somehow the racetrack makes it okay. They're regular cupholders too - I don't understand the love for jumbos. Regular cups hold cans so snug that it's impossible to spill them. Jumbos are asking for trouble I reckon.
Some of those sidetables look pretty slick but I think that I drink too much to be doing a hip swivel every time I want a drink... geez that's almost exercise! And imagine the reps!
Cups in the rail it is.

Regular sized are great for cans and bottles, but things like rocks glasses don't fit.

Glencairn glasses fit perfectly in the small ones.
Yeah I thought this would be the main reason... fortunately my game isn't that sophisticated. I've got glasses that fit and those plastic beer cups fit in too but there aren't too many top shelf sippers amongst my crew.Regular sized are great for cans and bottles, but things like rocks glasses don't fit.
