Custom artwork group buy. US/CAN CARDS MOLD (7 Viewers)

I've lost track where we are. Are these chips coming out now for batch #4? Is batch #3 on the boat yet? Seems like batch #3 were coming out a couple weeks ago, then there was a break when we didn't see any new photos.
I tried to piece together where we are. I'm generally more confused than most, so somebody correct me if I'm wrong:
Batch #1 (around 20,000 chips?) Shipped 09/16/2020, Sean received them 10/21/2020. There was much rejoicing. Happy Halloween for some!
Batch #2 (24,000 chips) Shipped 11/03/2020, Arrived in the U.S on 11/20/2020 Still in customs? Not sure what is happening. Much consternation.
Batch #3 (Unknown amount) Some samples shown 11/12/2020? Various updates from Tina "Should be ready to ship by 11/14/2020" "Should be ready by end of November" Riots beginning...

Let explanation GIFs ensue :)

I got art and money in right away. Said I didn’t need to see my samples as this was supposed to speed up the orders.
I appreciate your efforts Sean but I am still left wondering where the fuck are my fucking chips?? :ROFLMAO:

You and me both. I try not to ask because I know Sean is probably more pissed off than all of us.

But it seems like Tina and company quit caring once they got all the money.

Gotta be honest, Sean was super explicit about 'don't expect to get these any time soon.' Additionally, I have 4 shipments from different people inside the US that are screwed up and just taking the scenic route to my house. Then add in a lot of international markets going to shit, the existing comments about shipping across the pacific and american ports just being screwed. On top of all of that, we've got American holidays and the upcoming new years and chinese new year. If you've never done anything involving China and Chinese new year, imagine 6 weeks of just everything shutting down, that should give you a fair idea of what happens and how the rest of the world comes to expect that part of the world to behave.

I'll be happy if I get my chips Q3/Q4 of 2021.

All that being said, the folks kicking off all of these other group buys, I'd maybe watch the delivery in this thread before sending more money along.

I’ve had cabinets for my basement wet bar on order since September. They are coming from China and the latest news I’ve gotten says MAYBE by January. Hopefully shipping times speed up after the new year. I’m hoping to order 3,800 chips. I’d hate to see this situation turn disastrous, the chips for the price are great!

@SeanGecko would it be helpful to get a Google sheet up in that drive with a line for each individual order and status of chips? Then people can go check that if they have questions? We can assign a batch number when it's confirmed by Tina with the understanding that things change, be cool.

Maybe Tina would be on board with updating it but if not we could work together to do so.

Well I won’t be happy if they arrive in Q3/4 of 2021. I know it isnt Sean’s fault but it is maddening that they sent Sean pics of chips but they don’t seem to be in any hurry to get them done or ship them out.

China and google do not get a long. Tina is definitely printing them. I think she and I both bit off more than she could chew. We aren't her only customer or her only job. They are producing them. Some of the orders got moved around once they got.

Everyone has a plan until you get punched in the face. And well we both kind of got punched in the face.

Having been at the mercy of Chinese chip manufacturers since way back in the Palm Gaming days, I knew that the only solid answer to "When will we get them?" was going to be "When we get them."

@SeanGecko, you are a SAINT for dealing with this from both sides - Tina and the manufacturer on one hand, and the desperate chippers on the other. I'm going to have a White Russian and check back in a couple days (like I have been for the last several weeks).

I have two custom orders in the ceramic cards mold pipeline -- one here, and another more recent GB order.

I won't get concerned about delivery of either one until roughly March/April of 2021.

Why? Because it's not my first large Chinese factory rodeo, nor my first being ran during the busy and reduced-production holidays. Throw in a world-wide pandemic affecting global shipping, and you have to be an idiot to not expect additional delays.

Everybody just needs to chill the fuck out and worry about something else (that you can actually influence) for the next few months. This isn't Walmart with a dozen checkout lanes or a Wendy's drive-through window.

The chips will get made, packaged, shipped, inspected, delivered, and reshipped. The only part you can control is how you react to it all, so make good decisions and don't be a dick.

This.

I don’t know where you go to Walmart but I’ve never seen one with a dozen check out lanes. At least not open. :ROFLMAO:

My two closest Walmart stores both have 15+ checkouts regularly available, if counting the self-serve options. Often 20+.

Just to be clear, since I guess my questions set off this latest volley, I was just looking for confirmation that I had the progress correct. New pics coming in look great! Is Tina not telling you which batch this is or how much is left? If not, then simple answer is we don't know. Honestly my post was meant as a positive, seeing a continuous stream of pics of beautiful new chips. If we are into batch #4, then we're getting really close to the end!

The only real frustration is that Tina makes the classic customer service error of over-promising and under-delivering. But we all knew to expect that when we signed on for this.

And who's not being well behaved? We've been joking around together in this thread since the beginning. Sean gets some good natured ribbing, and tons of compliments and encouragement on an almost daily basis.

Just wanted to say the photos of mine so far have been exactly as designed with 100% color accuracy. I figured there would be color variation from the digital mockups.

Good/cheap/slow is good with me!

Just wish it would be over for Sean quicker! Hopefully everyone is patient and takes care of ya.
