Custom artwork group buy. US/CAN CARDS MOLD (11 Viewers)

Here is a close up - cards mold shows up best on the 1k chip IMO.

Hey everyone. We're about to have a pretty intense cold snap on Friday and Saturday. -20 and I was curious on your thoughts about the chips being in that temp?

Should I wait to send them out?
Thanks for the feedback.
Just a reminder for everyone. You need to provide Sean your address when you pay him for shipping. There was actually a dumbass member here who Sean had to remind to send his address. What kind of dumbass chipper does that? :whistling:

I was waiting to see just how well they could get *vertical* alignment on edge art. That's not too bad. For the price, it is quite good.

Off to design another set of cards mold chips...

Anyone do a sample run on the Mapes tributes to see how close the yellow and orange colors are??

My wife has heard tales of $500 racks. I think she’s even seen a PayPal payment. If just the racks and birdcages are $100s, how much are the chips worth?!

Oh man, jokes on her. Those are all gone, and when I die suddenly of a heart attack, she’ll be coming here to pawn off the surely $1000s we own in antique “Clown Motels” and “Viva el Donkeys”. :ROFLMAO::ROFL: :ROFLMAO::ROFL: :ROFLMAO:

Be kind when you tell her.

Not to double post, but a public thank you to both Eloe as well as Timinator. It was wonderfully kind for them to create these and offer them up, as well as Sean to take this on (even if he didn’t expect this much crazy!).

Take care of your designers and snipers.

edit: shippers, but I’m leaving snipers too

Sorry folks can't get them out today. TOO COLD! Wind chills as low as 25 below zero. Had some pipes burst where I live and my damn hands were dead from just trying to load the car. Too cold! I can't deal with it. I am so close to getting all the current ones at my place gone. I will have SPACE AGAIN!

Really looking forward to next Friday when it gets back to 30 degree temps.

Damn. Makes my inch of ice and 25 degrees above zero seem balmy. Be safe.

Received my chips last week. Summary – I love them. I never thought you could get custom made chips on a quality blank for 30 cents each. The colors they can print are amazing. My apologies for the crappy picture quality!

I will be ordering more! I really like the feel of them, it’s hard to describe the finish. They are smooth but with just enough grit to not make them slick. I would rate them about the same as lightly used Paulsons currently. I imagine with some usage they will be similar feeling to moderately used Paulsons. I did an unscientific test where I put stacks of different chips on a board and tilted it until they slid off of each other. I tested these chips against Nexgen sluggos, China clays, worn Paulsons and new Paulsons. These chips proved less slippery than all of the chips other than new Paulsons. I’m guessing that will change some with some use? One strange thing I noticed is that they have a slight hollow feeling? Strange to say when they are the same size and weight as Paulsons.

Some issues:

Edge Alignment – About 25% of my chips have some minor edge alignment issues. More significant issues are on maybe 5%. I’m not an expert on ceramic chips, but I think this is reasonable for this price. Just make note if you think this will bother you!

Black – Black is not black. This is just advice for people going forward. I ordered two different sets of chips, both had chips that I thought were black. One of them is more of a grayish black. They look like the are dusty or need to be cleaned. I assume this is just a difference in the artwork files used? So when getting your artwork done, if you want a deep black, make sure your black is black.

A very small number of chips have marks on them that look like the surface is scratched. I noticed this right away, so I don't think they are really scratches. Perhaps these are the “gas marks” Tina said they were trying to get rid of? I don’t really know. It was always suggested to order some extras for any printing issues like this.

I love this little cash set, but I can't help but think that there is an ugly duckling in the group? I think I'm going to need to come up with a new $5 chip. I prefer standard colors, so something close to red, but brighter, maybe orangish to match the others better. Maybe the color of the edgespot in the $20 chip? What do you think? I may start a separate thread for the subject.

I hope this "sort of review" helps some people.

Glad you love them. I mean, custom chips at 30c/chip....!? And fairly decent quality!? Why not, right?
