David O's 5,000th Post Give-Away (1 Viewer)

Spinetti's and eBay got me started in 2004, been downhill addiction since. Before that even, it was picking up a souvenir chip when I was 23 at my first casino in Reno (Bally's) in 1992 that truly started it. I don't collect samples, just places I go, so I will pass on the drawing, I just wanted to say thanks for supporting the community.

I appreciate all of the people participating. Wow Nico you gave me a long list! I will put them all in but after this please limit it to a couple of chippers. At this rate I may need to use the Pick 4 instead of the Pick 3 drawings!!

Limit it to a couple of chippers. That's like saying I'm going to limit my collection to a couple of sets. :D:ROFL: :ROFLMAO::D:ROFL: :ROFLMAO::D:ROFL: :ROFLMAO:

I could mention ten to twelve chippers mentioned multiple times already, but really have to give a big nod to @slisk250 Mike was able to help me complete my Terrible's tourney set as I had been hunting for the $500's for several years with no luck, and he gave me a more than honest price to complete the deal.

Great thread David

I'd like to shout out to 3 people.

@links_slayer , who continues to beat this terrible condition bestowed on him, while all of the great members assist with multiple fund raising event, raffles, etc. this past year's raffle was epic, and many chippers helped a good person and a good cause and received many awesome chips.

@Chippy McChiperson and @MikesDad have been my sounding board for years, helping me with more problems than most paid psychologists sometimes. At the same time, I've bounced many chip and table ideas off of them, and so far, they've been beyond helpful each time. It is awesome to have good friends in your poker circle. While they aren't my only friends in this community, or even in my poker circle.. they've been there since the very beginning, and I know they will always be there.

I'm going to put 4, feel free to trim it down if need be. They're in chronological order.

It can be tough being the new person in a community. I'm a bit of a social outcast and self-proclaimed awkward duck, so my nominations are going to the people who have welcomed me at their poker games despite not knowing basically anything about me at the time.

@Jeff held a game for Marsha and let me come right in like we had known each other for years. It was my first exposure to a full custom CPC set, my first time meeting a handful of PCF members, and he really does a lot for his guests including food and drink. It was a great first experience with PCF games.

@Fleming reached out to me when he saw I was in the same state, and invited me to a game with his friends without knowing me from Adam. Again I'm a bit of an awkward person, but he made me feel right at home at his game and kept the conversation going most of the day.

@Trihonda hosted MTTD, my first official meet up. He opened his beautiful home to a lot of chippers and degenerates and put on an awesome event. On top of that he kicked his family out for the weekend to take in a bunch of us so we would have a place to stay after playing late into the night.

@detroitdad has invited me to a couple of his games that he has coming up. While I haven't made it out there yet, I still appreciate the invites. He was also on call to answer questions and give me opinions about my CPC custom set, and was one of the lone people lobbying for me to keep the set solids. Plus he makes me feel better when I want to sell chips, because he may cycle through them faster than I do

I could go on and on with what others have contributed, because that's just how awesome this community is. Thanks everyone!

Grats on 5K posts David!

I'd like to thank you for letting me bunk in your room when you were down for the Suicide Queen Melee.

The person I want to nominate, and this is terribly embarrassing, is someone whose screenname I can't recall. But when I first moved to Florida and started up a home game, I bought an in-window air conditioner and discovered after the fact that the windows in the room only opened halfway and it wouldn't fit!

He contacted me on the forum and said he had a portable AC I could just have. I had never interacted with him before and he's mostly a lurker on the boards (owns an amazing craps setup) and he just reached out and helped me out, asking for nothing in return. I'm sure someone can help me tag this fine gentleman?

@carlin thank you for the PM David!!

@k9dr - Mark was the first person I met from this forum when he came to one of my home games while in the area visiting his family. Meeting him forced me to attend his meet up and now I'm hooked! Thanks Mark!

@Kyle - recently attended the Smoke Inn Poker Series and blew up my mailbox with some goodies from the event. Much appreciated!

I gotta throw some love to @Kyle and @pokerplayingpisces - the first two Denver players/collectors I met from PCF, who are always friendly and invited me to their games, and always happy to talk shop/chips.

Also gotta mention fellow Denver chippers @ruskba, @nitzilla, and @One Eyed Dollar, who regularly attend my games, are always willing to engage in good chipping chat, and are just good guys all around.

It's nice to have such a friendly/chill group of guys to play poker with on a regular basis, and who share in this chipping addiction of ours!

:)

PS: Bonus mention to @liftapint, who got me a spare SDPM $25 to fill out my rack after one broke in the mail, leaving one barrel sadly short.

PPS: Extra bonus mention to @LabMonkey for loaning me that CPC color sample set (that I didn't mail back for 4 months!), and @slisk250 for hosting such a killer RitR last year here in Colorado!

David, thanks for the awesome giveaway thread. Congrats on your 5000 milestone.

There are so many people I could nominate, but if I had to narrow it down, there are a few that come immediately to mind. David, if you have to eliminate some entries, I'll understand.

I'd have to start with @Jeff for hosting the meetup that started it all for me (the WCB). Not only does he host this awesome event, when I first attended, he spent time on the phone with me, making me feel comfortable about coming to an event out of state, with a pocket full-o-cash, playing poker in some guys basement, with a bunch of people I met on the internet. In addition to being a great host, Jeff is one of the nicest guys you'll ever meet here on this forum. When I started to host the MTTD, I used the WCB as my goal. I figured if my event was half as fun as his, it'd be a success! Jeff also has one of the coolest custom tourney sets, that's extremely underrated and has been getting snubbed by the HOF selection each year.

Next I have to nominate @Payback and @inca911 for pretty much the exact same things. They both have been the best house guests and meetup attendees I've ever seen. In addition to their many contributions on this forum, they both step up to help deal tables, clean up, sort tourney chips, or whatever else is needed. There are others that have stepped up, help clean, deal, etc.. but not quite to these guys' level. It's not just at the MTTD, but these guys have consistently done the same at other meet ups they attend. Kudos!

My next nomination is @p5woody for his amazing work with my many, many custom ventures. Not only is he an amazing artist, but his door (email) has always been open. He's always willing to help out with tweaking some artwork for an add on, or to mock up a few designs for a custom meetup chip. The projects he's helped me with are ttoo vast to list, but you can check out his thread on artwork to see I needed several posts to get all the photos inserted! Great guy, super helpful, and literally, if there were a HOF for PCF members, I know I wouldn't be the only one to nominate Steve!

Honorable mentions to my local chippers, @HanShot1st @Jason and @BukNaked36 for being great regular players to my game.

@Gear does outstanding work on custom labels and great guy in person. 1st class business he runs. Nice Job Chris!

@justsomedude @pokerplayingpisces @One Eyed Dollar @ruskba @nitzilla All great people in person and I always enjoy getting together to play cards with on a regular basis. Team Colorado home of the best PCF members and players on this site.

@CraigT78 Always enjoy the cigar thread and he also gave me several Cuban cigars with his sample chips. Looking forward to meeting you at the Alamo.

@Lars Great guy and makes some great BBQ and has the best setup to play cards at the Shed.

@David O for kickstarting the meet Up at the Alamo. Great guy and is always positive on this site. Really looking forward to this event.

@desjgn for having the best plastic playing cards in the country. Looking forward to those jumbo index cards!

@MegaTon44 Philly fan and always host excellent games at his place with all the goods food, drink, poker dealers etc. Would love to check out his scene one day.

@Jeff having good conversations about fantasy paulsons. Regularly host meetups at his place. Looking forward to meeting him in person.
