Talking with @slisk250 about the food at the meet up has me all excited. I decided to go all out for the five of us (parents are coming over for dinner).

Salmon, t- bones, chicken, charred broccoli, and pasta.

Supper at Luma on Park, in Winter Park, FL. A new challenger to Norman's for Orlando supremacy.

I did my first sous vide ribs about a week ago. Turned out to be the best ribs yet. I don't realistically ever see doing them in the smoker ever again.
I really need to try, I have done the smoker, but never tried with my sous vide.

I've never had ribs cooked like this before. Damn, I'm in. To date, the best ribs I have ever eaten were prepared by @mike32 I will no longer even try to cook ribs. That won't compare to Mike's :)

Making a favorite of mine today, rigatoni bolognese with fresh tomatoes from the garden:

Roma & San Marzano tomatoes, grown here in Jersey with seeds from Italy:

Tomatoes skinned, veggies ready to go (onions already cooking):

I miss cooking with fresh tomato's. I used to grow 24 plants. We canned a shit ton of salsa and sauce. Damn that was some good shit.

I'd be interested to see how the Jersey San Marzano's taste. Different soil and climates, but fresh vs canned. Very interested...

Licking my monitor did not taste very good at all.

Wow thats a good size garden. I planted 14 this year, 2/3 of which were "sauce" tomatoes. I tried something new this year and bought a couple of different San Marzano seeds from Italy (they're the bigger plum tomatoes in the pic above). They grew really well and the fruits are huge, meaty and delicious. Crop hasn't been fantastic this year since we've had a relatively cool summer, took until this weekend to get enough at once to make some sauce. I usually make about 8 big sauce batches, canning the extra from each batch.

I used to have two gardens. The main one was 1200 square ft. The second one was 500 square feet.

Or was awesome. But alot of work

Ribs on the barbie for dinner tonight (y)
