I’ve been chasing union plaza fracs for a while so I sometimes end up with other chips from the casino. And they had a lot of different chips. But it just occurred to me that I’ve never seen a snapper. I’m not a singles collector and I’ve never paid much attention to snappers in general, so maybe this is common, I don’t know?

I assume they had blackjack tables and I guess they paid a $2.50 bonus with a half dollar? Or quarters? But the question is, is that common? Do/did a lot of casinos just not bother with snappers?

Many casinos are moving from 3:2 payouts to 6:5, so no need for a snapper.

Some of the bigger casinos don't have $5 blackjack anymore, which also cuts back on the need for snappers.

A shame, really, they were always fun as some of the more elusive chips as they could only be had by a winning blackjack hand. Almost as elusive as poker drop chips.

I thought the casinos around me didn't have them until I went to the cage and actually asked.
