Ok, look. We're *not* talking about when you swing into the gas station on your way to the lake-house because you forgot to bring the good cards, and trash cards is all they have.

We're ~also~ not talking about those dumb setups you bought 8 years ago when you were still new to cards.

We're talking today. You're at home, not under any pressure, and you're just in the mood to pick up some decent new decks.

How many of you still buy regular index, and why?

Not on purpose, but, I did pick up a deck recently of Gemaco Superflex, because they didn't have jumbo... but I really like the Superflex, so I grabbed a setup. I'm jumbo 99.9% of the time.

I do when there is no Jumbo Index choice available and the cards are too nice to pass (rare but it happens). I live with the eye strain in those instances (ie: recently Superflex purchase). Just like I'll buy Poker size cards on occasion, only use them for Fold-Em' which I hardly ever play.

I really prefer jumbo and try not to buy standard. I will say the WSOP standard index Copag cards are not bad. I have trouble telling clubs from spades these days, especially in sub-optimal lighting.

I only buy jumbo out of functionality. I don’t like how they look in comparison to regular index. I use regular index cards for short handed games on small tables where the cards are easily visible but for full table games, I use jumbo.

Jumbo. That being said, with my group I'm surprised somebody doesn't hold up a King and ask "what are these worth?"

Same game for years.
Same players for years.
Same chips for years.

Holds up quarter chip...."What are these worth?"

"About 45 cents each plus shipping. Now, you gonna ante, or what?"

We play all kinds. Standard are better for my old man 5 card draw/stud games, and the average age at that game is 60+.

You know what, I'll bring Jumbo index on Monday when we play, see if they are a hit.

Jumbo for poker. We are also an older group.

I keep a few decks of regular index for when I play bridge, which is rarely. Hold 13 cards in you hand and you will appreciate the smaller indices. Ilove bridge and it's a shame that nobody plays it anymore.
