1) will blanks be available?
2) will labels be available?
3) any thoughts of keeping the faux shaped inlays on $5, $20, $25 chips etc?
4) are chip edges square or slightly beveled?

1 + 2) I think? Without going through the thread again I feel like this is happening but Josh or someone who remembers should reply.

3) I think they won't do it because they will look too much like the originals and it's more expensive to do.

4) Every CC chip I know of has beveled edges with some being better than others. I remember someone who has had every CC describing the differences but I don't remember what they said about the Dunes

I finally have the prototypes. They came out better than expected. I will post more images tomorrow.
Only one chip has to be tweaked.

The $20 chip is almost identical!

Out of all the China Clays I have sold these have the sharpest edges so far.

The pre-sale is still on. Price is $.33 now. I will hold that price for another couple weeks. Final price will be around $.40.

I think they won't do it because they will look too much like the originals and it's more expensive to do.

A faux-shaped-inlay label doesn't cost any more to produce than any other printed label of the same size -- it's all ink, substrate, and lamination, nothing more.

And the same Chinese company produced faux-shaped-inlay Dunes replica chips on ABS plastic chips, so that reason goes out the window, too.

No faux shaped labels will be attempted. Reason is I do not trust China with it. If pulled off correctly they look great but I do not trust them.

No blanks will be ordered. If you want blanks just buy labeled chips and remove the label.

When presented with the choice between cash and tourney, I always follow the ancient adage:

"If thy heart be torn betwixt tourney and cash,

Does China clay feel like hard plastic?

I would say they are softer and the amount of softness can depend on a number of factors. I've noticed that the softness of my Milanos depends on whether I have oiled them on or not.

I would not compare any China clay to hard plastic though. Some have described them as plasticy or rubbery but in my experience I've had good luck with them being mildly chalky or like a hard leather.

I think I lack the vocabulary to properly define the feeling

Yeah but when these plastic composites/china clays chips cost 3c to make in China, the premium gets steep. I wish the quality control was there to justify the current price, just my opinion.
