SOLD Extra Life 2015 Charity Raffle (1 Viewer)

Every other year I participate in Extra Life, a fundraising campaign for Children's Miracle Network hospitals. The last time I participated my team raised enough funds to help a three year old boy receive a new kidney at no out-of-pocket cost to the family. This year, I'm directing the funds towards the Center for Cancer and Blood Disorder's at Phoenix Children's Hospital.

I'll spare you the sob stories and awful details of what cancer has done to some of the kids at Phoenix Children's Hospital. Suffice it to say that cancer's a bitch. There's little I can do to prevent cancer from afflicting the young people in my community, but I can at least help them and their families deal with the challenges of fighting it.

As a part of my fundraising efforts this year I've decided to hold a raffle (continue to scroll down to see the prize list). A donation of $25 to my Extra Life fundraising campaign gets you one entry into the raffle. Note that these funds never pass through my hands - they go directly to the 501(c) organization - and you will receive a tax receipt via email for your donation.

Here's how to donate:

1) Click on this link, or go to www.helpthekids.us (That URL will redirect you to my fundraising site within the Extra Life campaign. I bought the domain name since it's easier to remember than a mile-long string of numbers, letters, and punctuation).

2. Click on the "Support Me" button

3. Fill out the donation form. Be sure to donate the proper amount for however many raffle entries you want (e.g. three raffle entries = $75.00).

IMPORTANT - while filling out the form, you MUST fill out the section that says "Message to Scott" with Poker Chip Forum (Probably best not to abbreviate it PCF in case someone dumb thinks the terrorists suddenly became charitable) and your forum name.

IF YOU DO NOT LIST YOUR FORUM USER NAME IN THIS AREA, YOUR DONATION WILL NOT EARN YOU ANY RAFFLE ENTRIES!!! I will not be spending time tying email messages and conversations back to rogue donations amounts.

Note that you can also list who sees the message, who can see your actual name, who can see what you donated, etc. Plenty of privacy options at your disposal.

4. Pay. Donations can be submitted via credit card or Paypal.

5. Wait for the raffle to be conducted on Saturday, November 14th, using Random.org's third-party draw service.

That's it! Super simple.

1. Deadline for donating for raffle entries is Friday, November 13th, 11:59pm , 2015, Arizona time. I specifically state Arizona time because the change will kick in soon for the rest of the country, but not in AZ. Those donating for raffle tickets are responsible for figuring out what the difference in time is between Arizona and their local time.
   
2. Every $25 donated equals one raffle entry. Only full increments of $25 will be considered; left-over or remainder portions will not be awarded a raffle entry.
3. Only donations with forum name and user name properly entered in the "Message to Scott" section of the donation form will be considered for raffle entries.
4. Once a specific entry is drawn, it will be removed from the entry pool and thus cannot be drawn to win additional prizes. In other words, if you only have one raffle entry, you can only win one item.
5. Prize draw order will be as follows:
   1. Bonus Prize (if applicable): 500 Paulson solid hot stamped chips

6. The drawing will be conducted on Saturday, November 14th (time TBD), 2015 using Random.org's third-party draw service. Only the entries listed in post #1 of this thread as of 10:00am Arizona time on November 14th, 2015 will be entered into the drawing. It is the donator's responsibility to ensure that all their entries are properly accounted for on this list.
7. The order of entries drawn by Random.org will correspond to the order of the prize pool. In other words, the first entry drawn/listed will win the top-most available prize in the pool.
8. Winner's are responsible for any postage costs over and above $12. Shipping insurance will be purchased at the winner's request and expense.

Thanks, me too! I'd *love* to have enough money raised for those bonus Paulsons to be added to the mix. The $2000 mark may be a little high, but when you break it down that's only 80 total entries. An average of one entry from 80 different people across two sites seems within the realm of possibility to me!

In all honesty with the great group of people the two sites have I'm going to be a little surprised if you don't reach your 2k goal when all resources are combined...

I'll do my small part for an entry at some point, hopefully more. Good luck! Cancer took my dad last year and the year before that a liver transplant saved my moms life (she got it at the Mayo Clinic out in Scottsdale) so I know first hand what cancer can take and what modern medical miracles can sometimes give if the money is there. The hurt I felt with my mom getting sick and my dad dying is something that is almost insurmountable, to know that these exact same things happen to kids tears my heart out. This is a tough world sometimes, good luck with your noble goal!

...and for everyone else out there. I haven't asked, but it's likely that all of these chip prizes are Scott's personal property. He can confirm if he wants. It's one thing to donate money. Anyone that is on a good run can do it. When a person donates time and chips is another thing. For one of us to hand over 500 hot stamps and Casablancas, etc. That is like a crack head sharing their last rock That should tell you something about Scott's level of commitment here.

One single donation works for me, but if someone does make multiple donations I will absolutely aggregate their donations and divide by 25 to ensure they get their proper entries.

I haven't asked, but it's likely that all of these chip prizes are Scott's personal property.

This is mostly true. I did receive a couple of chip donations (and let me extend another Thank You! to those of you that donated!), but most of this is stuff I've acquired. Some were bargains, some were leftovers, and some were just plain' ol "I bet this would make a decent prize."

This thread passed me by as well. I just made a donation and included myself in the raffle. However, if I do win a prize in the raffle I would like 1 of 2 things to happen. Option 1...take what I would win and put it up on eBay/PCF, donating the resulting amount to Extra Life. Option 2...send me the prize and I will offer them up for auction on PCF and donate the amount to the winning bidders charity of choice. If I get no traction here then I will put them up on eBay and donate the winning amount from there to Extra Life.

I honestly have no use for chips at the moment so winning a prize is not that important to me.

Psypher, if you don't like this idea or would rather me take myself out of those eligible for a prize I have no problem with that.
