Fat Tire Cash Chips... Design Discussion (5 Viewers)

@Ray-Col How about a render update of these? You're awesome!

I prefer a spotted yellow chip but not orange.

There are too many orange/peach/red/pink tones across the line up for my taste.

It runs B/B/B/A/? in terms of spots and progression for me.

I'm not sure there's enough spot contrast on either version of the final chip

The upper of the two sets looks much more balanced/logical in terms of edge spot design across all chips to me. Better progression.
Thin stripes reserved for the upper denoms instead of randomly spread

For the yellow chip I'd take the darker orange edge spots though.

I definitely agree with @Toby re: the spot contrast on the $100 - the purple can be seen, but you kinda have to look for it or squint to identify it. That's not typically what you want out of a spot color.

The orange/red theme is definitely prevalent through the first four denoms, but I think the orange spot works on the frac and 1. Not particularly sold on it for the $20 as it. Doesn't look bad, IMO, and if you like it there then run with it. I just suspect there's another spot color combination that might make the whole thing work even better.

As for the spot progression itself, I prefer the top.

Agree with the above that purple is lost on that hundo. I like @72o's suggestions individually, but they do make the set heavier in orange tones as @Toby mentioned.

I was thinking the same thing... Since the other inlays have a bit of silver in them, I was contemplating reversing the inlays, and have it primarily Silver with Black text, etc...
Chrome not silver. We are talking bikes here

Then you had better get cracking and get a final lineup together!

Probably this, with a few tweaks to the hundo (maybe a combo of the two spot colors above, DG pink with white (or something more visible). The feedback from folks about the frac, was that the orange spot wasn't enough contrast, but having a sample set in front of me, that DG peach and Canary DO contrast very well. It's not coming across in the mocks.

Inlay artwork is nearly complete. I think these are pretty much a lock. Any thoughts or suggestions are welcome. I very much like this updated iteration, compared to the earlier ones.

I've also struggled with the hundo spot colors. I want it to be spectacular, but can't seem to come up with anything that says "WOW". Suggestions?

I like what you have and you can't go wrong with it but i think all those hundred colors have the most WOW on a black chip.
My 2 cents.

Pick your favorite wow:

When you're wanting pop on a medium-to-dark background, arc yellow is your friend. In your case, I'm a bit partial to dg orange/arc yellow, but they all look pretty solid. Also note no duplication of other colors in the set.

Just bumping this to finalize my design. I’m locked into most of the set. However the Hundo needs work still. I will still consider looking at the edge spot colors of the $1 and $20 chips as well. I think they’re good, but I haven’t looked at this set design in a serious manner in over 4 months. Trying to scrape together the funds to pull the trigger.

$20 still absolute best in set.
Immediately reminds me of this:
maxresdefault.jpg

Extremely expensive skin for a sniper rifle in Counter Strike: Global Offensive.

For the $100, if you want 1/8" spots, I believe one single DG spot won't be enough to keep the balance... Charcoal is just do damn dark and makes pretty much anything look a bit more drab.
Maybe one of those?

I like that middle one. I am at work, and don’t have access to the chip design tool. I’ll have to render it next to the other chips and see how it looks together one I get home.

I made it home, rush to my PC, and find I can't access the chip design tool... Has this been working for others?

Working fine here

Thanks for the info. I even rebooted. Tried navigating directly there from CPC's site, and then again from PCF site. Still just "spinning it's wheels"... Can't select anything, can't log in.
